You beat me to it. I would also add that it’s also the fault of all the fools that put their faith completely in government and “science” and refuse to think for themselves. I’m not sure what can be done about these idiots, their numbers are vast and they will continue to vote for the people that enslave them to house arrest, as they migrate inland from the coasts corrupting every state as they go.

Agree, but everyone gets due process or no one does. Either we support rule of law, or we don't.

But if the rule of law truly breaks down, well... we'll know it. And then we really get to test out your maxim.

Please understand, David. I'm not actually advocating the lynching of bureaucrats and public officials. I'm just fantasizing about it. The jerking motions as they are hoisted off the ground -- no short drop for the motherfuckers -- the kicking as they strangle slowly, like we're doing. And then when they shit themselves in death, the sweet smell of revenge.

I'm not faulting you for feeling that way. I feel that way, and by second hand. I'm collecting a paycheck and working, but I'm watching my friends and hometown collapse financially. I'm just stating it because I feel it's important to say these things in times like these.

We once rolled a guy up who they wouldn't let us kill. I processed his belongings. He had a LOT of child porn on him, and he was in a lot of it. He was also responsible for financing the local groups spreading new IED materials and TTPs. I could have, and thought about, walking up to his temporary holding cell and turning his head into a fucking canoe. It would've been the end of my career, marriage and freedom, but I wouldn't have lost sleep over the killing, itself.

But something has to separate us from him, or we all go down the road where the German police found themselves -- from "just doing my job" to shooting pregnant women in the back of the head.

I love this board, this community, and what everyone has built. I love this country. I feel singularly inadequate, but I'm not giving up on any of it.

Bosun! Seize that man up and put a noose around his neck.

Leftenant! Gather a party of men to pull the cable over the yardarm. Slowly, mind you.

Further, reopening badges are intended to "build consumer confidence" and assure your clients that your business is safe. Additionally, according to these guidelines, we will also be required to place the state's 211 number throughout the facility so that customers can contact the authorities if proper safety guidelines are not being followed.

Today I've finally been pushed too far. This news was the last straw for me, I'm not going to comply with that and I'm likely not going to reopen at all. I am most likely going to close up shop, take what savings I have, and move out of my home state, hopefully to a place that values freedom and start all over. The bureaucrats have pushed me to the point of leaving behind my friends, family, and a business that I built from nothing several years ago. Incredibly upsetting.
Understandable. I’m from ct too and the electing of Ned was basically the nail in the coffin for so many people I know, shit even before this covid mess. It’s a disgrace because I love my area, northwest ct, but how do they expect us to live? My bjj school is hanging on by a thread from the regulars paying more than our monthly dues while they are closed down, but I can’t even see them reopening. It’s too bad, I was going to reach out to you for some personal training for my power clean once this cleared up.

    Woah.

I'm convinced the people who make these rules either come from another planet, or are drunk on power. Maybe both.

You voting by your foot steps, aka leaving is a good move. Hopefully others are brave enough as you are.

What they fail to understand is that this is not an environment for business to thrive. You cannot have your hands in everyones affairs and expect prosperity.

Which really makes me wonder why the gov wants this to happen. If you run most businesses into the ground if they're operating in your state, then you will be making much much less in tax revenue.

First the business owners won't be operating in your state, so you lose out directly on tax revenue from the business. Then you miss out on payroll tax, property tax for the business location and the home that the business owners and employees would have had.

I just really don't understand what these states expect is going to happen. Forget the people, they clearly don't actually care about them, I'm talking about the money that comes from taxing people in your state.

Then smart people like Cody move to another state with more freedom, and that state gets their tax dollars.

What is the fucking end game from this? To completely fuck your state? Or try and create some socialist utopia?

There is nothing better than the free market, yet these morons who have never picked up a book on history want to "try socialism, the right way this time!" The government needs to get their god damn hands off of private businesses.

By the way, who the hell is going to enforce these frivolous "social distancing" calls to 211? The police?

    More madness around the world:

Australian rugby league is requesting all players to be vaccinated for the flu shot

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says NRL players who don'''t have flu vaccination should be banned from play - ABC News

This might indicate what is coming in the future, with politicians and employers coercing people into getting the COVID vaccine 'no jab, no job'.

We even have calls for suspending human rights over in the UK, more help in forcing the vaccine onto us:

Human rights laws should be suspended to safeguard easing of lockdown, says Government's former legal counsel

    Meanwhile our UK government begin to reveal their true hand as they push their agenda onto us;

PS2 billion package to create new era for cycling and walking - GOV.UK

I can see it clearly now, COVID will naturally diminish over the summer months and our leaders will hail their efforts as a huge success in stopping the disease. Come the fall it will come back and these tyrants will then stop at nothing to take more freedom away from us. We better get ourselves ready for them during 'second wave' in the fall because it's coming.

Within days of these lockdowns, one of the images that ran through my head was some recently unemployed person who, after losing everything, finally snapped and popped off a few rounds at a police officer or city official. I'm certainly not advocating that anyone do this, but if it happens I won't be shocked at all.

The park district where I teach Jujitsu and a Karate guy teaches his class are likewise closed down. In fact, the park district announced layoffs and furloughs for it's employees. The Karate guy and I get paid the princely sum of $10 an hour for the classes we teach, so no class, no pay. I'm retired anyway and don't need the money. But it remains to be seen if the people we teach will be coming back when "normalcy" is declared. I suspect it's a long way out there given the up close and personal nature of what we teach.

OTOH, my own teacher from when DB and I still lived in CA is conducting Saturday classes by way of Zoom. He's teaching use of the short yawara, so it doesn't have some of the limitations and drawbacks of requiring a partner to train with.
