--City Pays $10 Million to Black Lives Matter Protesters Over 2020 Riots

Encouraged and allowed. Meanwhile they simply execute counter-protestors like Ashli Babbitt with zero consequences, and the media treats the executioner as a hero.

--C.S.Lewis' "That Hideous Strength" Matches Orwell's "1984" As A Prognosticator Of The Perils Of Progressivism

While 1984 is a lot more masculine and Stalin-like in its brutality, Lewis' vision better matches modern Western progressivism: just as soul crushing and brutal, but passive aggressively so, hiding behind a gentle, effeminate voice wearing a mask of "politeness" and "respectability".

Comparing the vitality of the East and West German populations, for example, it's remarkable how much more soul crushing and destructive the latter type of subjugation is. I believe there is something about us that is naturally much more resistant to masculine dominance. The onus is on the boot to remain strong on your neck. While with post-WWII Western style subversion, the population is feminized and psychologically weakened until it is submissive enough that the boot becomes barely even necessary.

No one is challenging what you believe, but why you believe it. Note the absence of questions about your favorite color, or your best friend.

They will almost certainly not be happy, or even want to do them, but what makes you think they will refuse their orders?
The Texas Military does not obey orders from anyone but the Governor. And he has just shown you what he will do.

Gen Flynn's letter was very illuminating. The Federal US government will almost certainly rely on fighting wars to kick the economic can down the road, but that only works on external enemies who can be convinced to take US dollars. aka Ukraine, Israel and Saudi Arabia. I'm not sure they'd be so economically keen on fighting a war internally. Politically I have no doubt, behind closed doors, the washington class is almost universally demanding that Texas be invaded.
That will be a very interesting day.

To add something, I think while it's interesting Texas is essentially declaring succession, and has been joined by some other states.
As I have said before, this situation ends with a new flag. Or two.

CONVOY 1 - VA to TX

Virginia Beach, VA to Eagle Pass (Quemado), TX [Jan 29th - Feb 3rd]
    Final Rally Location: February 2nd 5pm CST & 3rd 12pm CST

Why would anyone from Virginia Beach, Virginia travel all the way to Eagle Pass Texas unless there are illegal immigrants who cause serious problems either in Virginia Beach or who have relatives living near the US Mexico border?
Now, what will the Feds, most notably the FBI, do about this? Will they ignore it, or will they create a rallying point for pissed-off Americans?

I think there's actually an explanation for this one, Jenni. People who start off with good intentions very, very often change as they gain power, and power generally undermines integrity long before it undermines intentions.

I don't fully agree with Barry's take as the complete narrative, (there are absolutely malevolent actors involved) but I think he's right for many of the participants in things like the PC movement. A lot of folks start with good intentions, and over time become blinded to what integrity and accountability are supposed to reveal to them. By the time they become equipped to be tyrants, they get to where they believe, for example, that it's okay to lie to the general population to get them to buy into what you just KNOW is best for them. They don't apologize because they just don't see it by that point. I have lived for a long time in a very PC area, and I've seen it play out repeatedly.

Some evildoers are untroubled by conscience because it's no longer there, but some (probably far more) are untroubled by their conscience because it's deceived, convinced that what they're doing is truly best. Think of German doctors "euthanizing" the mentally retarded out of a heartfelt conviction that it's "for their own good". Or, for that matter, American ones lobotomizing the mentally ill (or overmedicating them) out of similar beliefs that they are true agents of mercy.

Does that make it right? Absolutely not. Is it evil that must be resisted? Absolutely. But it's different between the two types, and each takes a different approach, especially on a personal level. There's more hope of convincing the deceived, correctly informing their conscience, especially at an early enough stage. For the truly conscienceless, or any of them past a certain stage, the ways left to stop them become increasingly direct.

Cons: It puts something other than the truth above the truth.

    Pros: None.

Mark, forgive me for butting in here on this conversation on PC, I believe I can tell you why I believe PC is a good thing, where shall I start? Well for me PC started when I got married, about a few weeks down the track I realized that if I did not use nice and kindly words I did not get fed, you know, no breakfast, lunch or dinner, you know what I mean, the dog and cat got a fed, but if I spoke out of place, no PC no eat.

Also back when I was a kid if I spoke out of place and showed no respect to Grandma I would get a razor strap around the back of the legs, yes sir I learned fast PC is a good thing. Words fail me when it came to getting my first job, my first girl friend, facing off with my sister-in-law, yes sir I learned fast.

So there you go PC or pleasant conversation as I like to call it I believe is a good thing.

You know I'd had a dream of writing a dystopian novel, based around feminine totalitarianism rather than the masculine tyranny of the current crop of novels. I'd made a few rough notes but I always assumed it wasn't an original idea. But it's pleasant to know that CS Lewis had the same idea, even with not having a direct protagonist.

I do, peanut butter sandwiches, eggs and bacon on toast, and of course every mans' fallback, take away! You know Mark when I think about it I should have imported a Texan sheila to get my hands on some of that Chicken Fried Steak and Pecan pie.

That's a reasonable theory. I'm still at least partially stuck on....really? No backtrackers at all? I mean the most I've seen are academic articles like in JSTOR critiquing it. But I admit the theory is reasonable. I suppose a lot of people find it hard to be the first to holler the emperor has no clothes. It's a mentality I have difficulty understanding and therefore seeing. I'll holler 'he nekkie' and then eat popcorn while everyone argues about how rude I was to say it out loud. Because the only way to get a robe on the guy is for us all to admit he's naked.

That's funny. I always found feeding a man got me lots of nice and kindly words.

Tucker Carlson Tonight 1/26/24 | Tucker Carlson Tonight January 26, 2024 - YouTube

Interview by Tucker Carlson with Governor Abbot of Texas and the Texas Attorney General. Will there really be a violent confrontation between the federal government and the state of Texas joined by other Republican states sending their National Guard to Texas over illegal immigration and the border?
The Texas attorney general said nothing has happened like this since the Civil War. Is this possible? Biden can't be a functioning president. It must be Obama or one of his people.
