My information is that LA county has 10.1M people and has had only 1600 Covid deaths in over two months. For comparison, 5400 people die each month from cancer. Yet the place is locked down. Nationwide data indicate that of all deaths only ~1% were from healthy people. There are two groups of people that this kills, with significant overlap: the elderly and the sick. They should have been quarantined, not everybody else, as is now apparent to everyone willing to think. In a sane world, every local and state official in California would be immediately replaced when everybody figures out what has been done to them. But this is California, and this is what you voted for. What will you do?

    Raise taxes?

What do you think about the long and short term for the entertainment industry? While it may be “cute” to do a few episodes of SNL telework style, I’m wondering about the dozens of series as well as movies. Plenty of intimate scenes as well as large crowds and crew. Theaters are likely gone, maybe forever, but no new material? Will they start testing people like porn stars?

I think that if the entertainment industry is gutted, it couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of people. Maybe they will learn some things about privilege, money, humility, common sense, and economics.

There are quite a few conservative-libertarian people who work below-the-line. They just have to hide it to keep working. I predict that symphony orchestras and dance companies will fold as well. They were already struggling.

They flee to my state and tell me they are here, because we have more space/affordable housing/jobs. When here, the majority virtue signal, deride the local culture as backwards and preach about the excellence of California/NY. They then proceed to vote in their preferred authoritarian-leftist governments.... and inevitably, after their larger numbers have allowed them to outvote me, it becomes what my city...my state...my country ...what I have voted for.

The left's pop propaganda arm will indeed be hurt. Likewise, a major source of Left Coast funding will dry up as the entertainment industry gets bled.

Another thing to consider are their indoctrination arms in academia. These too are getting the fleam by way of closures. One has to wonder if the professorial class isn't already warning that they can't refill young skulls with the latest grievance marketing to further shift the culture leftward.

Not that either of these things are without merit.

I saw there’s a barber in New York under investigation for “illicit haircuts.” You have got to be fucking kidding me... Be careful, gym owners, next they’re coming after you for providing illicit deadlifts!

The cynic in me says the entertainment industry will go on just fine. They’ll be labeled essential and it will be business as usual.

I don't know if my SS forum account is lacking privileges, but I tried posting a link in this thread to a video on YouTube, and it said that it would post upon moderator review. I haven't seen it post yet.

I'll try again without the links this time.

Episode 3052 of the Still Report can be found on Bill Still's YouTube channel or on the website thestillreport dot com.

Mr. Still has been active in promoting monetary reform for decades. He has a great amount of content, but I think this recent episode sums up at least a good portion of the bigger picture quite nicely. Please note that most of his videos have a paid sponsor promotion portion of the video that is easy to skip through.

His Money Masters documentary, which is episode 1800 on his YouTube channel, should be mandatory viewing if one is trying to understand our monetary system.

Nube: The link you posted started with a 3 minute commercial for the guy's products. Don't post that shit here.
