Local FEMA officials are attempting to coordinate with the operators of all the above helicopters, civilian and NG. They get bent out of shape when rogue pilots interfere in an already chaotic situation. This problem should subside as the You Tubers get their hero video and move on to their next big idea for content. (Some people hate Jews, I don't, but I do have a particular dislike for dipshit YouTubers). See attached.

FEMA has long ago been discredited for failing to provide adequate disaster relief during major catastrophic events. You are dreaming if you expect them to do any better during this effort. The best the affected people can hope for is for FEMA to provide access to the proper paper work to apply for their disaster relief checks.

That's not going to fly, David. People are trying to help, because that's what we do for each other when we can, especially if you're not in NYC. The attached is just not representative. The FEMA examples, unfortunately, are quite representative of bureaucrats in charge of things.

Exactly. The federal gov't isn't going to be knocking on your door, hot meal in hand, as soon as the sun comes out. The absolute best at initial response is going to be the local community. There's a shit-load of work to be done before the NG, Army or anyone else can even get in there with the "big equipment" the YT idjits have been screeching about.

Have I heard of people with relief supplies getting stopped? Yes. But they said it was because there were utility trucks and/or road clearing equipment blocking the road ahead, and they were given another route to take.

    Fox interviewing Ron DeSantis...

IT WAS A CATEGORY 4 STORM. WE PREPARED FOR IT. WE HAD TENS OF THOUSANDS OF UTILITY WORKERS READY TO GO AND POWER RESTORATIONS IN RECORD TIME AFTER A MAJOR HURRICANE. BUT WE ALSO BETWEEN STATE AND LOCAL CONDUCTED THOUSANDS OF RESCUE MISSIONS AS SOON AS THE STORM HAPPENED.

    ----

BUT THE LESSON THAT I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD TAKE FROM THIS WE LEARNED IN FLORIDA LONG AGO, WE DON'T RELY ON FEMA TO DO ANY OF THAT TYPE OF ACTIVITY.

WE RELY ON FEMA TO BASICALLY BE A BANK ACCOUNT.

THERE IS FEDERAL PROGRAMS IN PLACE. WE GET OUR PEOPLE QUALIFIED FOR INDIVIDUAL ASSISTANCE, REIMBURSEMENT FOR SOME OF THE DEBRIS. BUT WE TAKE THE MATTERS INTO OUR OWN HANDS FOR THE PREPARATION AND THE RESCUE AND RESPONSE

    ---

THE FEDERAL BUREAUCRACY IS NOT GOING TO DO THE TRICK IN THESE SITUATIONS. SO WE WERE ABLE TO DO IT.

INTERESTING IN FLORIDA, WE CONDUCTED THOUSANDS OF RESCUE MISSIONS AS SOON AS THE STORM HIT. MOST -- A LOT OF IT LOCAL. SOME JOINT, STATE AND LOCAL AND OTHER STATE. ALL THOSE MISSIONS WERE SUCCESSFUL. WE DID HAVE FATALITIES BUT THE PEOPLE THAT WERE IN DIRE STRAITS THAT NEEDED HELP GOT RESCUED AND BROUGHT TO SAFETY.

THAT IS THE WAY IT'S DONE.
Watching the video you'll need to ignore the Fox talking head trying to bait him into bashing Biden.

I agree with you about FEMA. They have a history of failure so I have very low expectations of them. I know some FEMA part time responders and I think little of them too.

As far as communities helping themselves- my wife's family owns the Cootie Brown's Restaurants and catering in Johnson City and Bristol, TN. They are providing free food for affected families in the area. I have heard reports of the Red Cross interfering with local aide distribution but the Red Cross backed down after forceful resistance from the locals. My brothers-in-law can be very persuasive.

The YouTube video in my prior post is only one example of many reckless and irresponsible aviation YouTubers. They are a danger to themselves and the public. Interfering in a disaster relief effort is a no no!

FEMA Arrests Noah For Running Unauthorized Flood Rescue Operation | Babylon Bee

ASHEVILLE, NC — FEMA arrested Noah this week after they caught the prophet attempting to help rescue people afflicted by the floods.

"This is an unapproved rescue operation and we will not tolerate such behavior," FEMA Spokesman Randy Tarwater told the press. "We apprehended Noah and his so-called ‘ark' attempting to save human and animal lives. That's not what FEMA represents."

After Hurricane Helene annihilated entire communities, the Prophet Noah steered his ark into needy areas to help rescue stranded Americans. FEMA reportedly blocked the seer and told him his saving people was really getting in the way.

"I tried to bring a large shipment of food and water into Appalachia, but FEMA turned me back and told me if I tried to deliver any more supplies they'd arrest me," Noah said. "But I've never been one to take the directives of naysayers to heart so back I went! That's when a guy put me in handcuffs and hauled me away. FEMA even impounded my ark! I worked so hard on that thing."

As of publishing time, FEMA had confiscated all Noah's animals and auctioned them off to pay for another $50 billion to Ukraine.
Professionals, like these people, are extremely vulnerable to ridicule.

Here's another example of our fabulous government at work, to our detriment: DMSO is a Miraculous Therapy for Chronic Pain and Musculoskeletal Injuries

One of the curious facets of Western Medicine is that while money is always spent on “research,” whenever the occasional miracle drug comes out that works too well with a wide range of applications, it is inevitably consigned to the dustbin of history regardless of the data put forward for it.

In the first part of this series (which provides important context for this article), I listed the decades of evidence that demonstrates the simple (naturally occurring) chemical Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO) is a remarkably safe drug that completely transforms the care of many challenging and insurmountable illnesses (e.g., strokes, severe head trauma, spinal cord injuries, amyloidosis, Down’s Syndrome and dementia).
