other news, a woman has been burned to fucking death on the NY subway. Kids driven over at a market in Germany. What next?
And on the same day the douche bag Gov. Hokum had a photo opp of her going shopping on the subway, what a joke.

Thank you, Rip and staff, and thank you all for who are and what we all do here together. And thank you all for allowing me to be a part of this.

    Sappy bastards.

You know, I can't think of a culture from the northern hemisphere that doesn't have some sort of winter celebration. In the darkest part of the year we light fires and gather together. I think current happenings have been a dark night for those of our mindset and I think this place has served as a light in that dark. I'm grateful for that. May we continue to do our fahves and generally slap sense into each other in the new year.

Although not a religious person, and not smart enough to know if there is or isn't a God, Merry Christmas and I hope everyone has a nice gathering with family and friends during the holidays.

I appreciate hearing everyone's thoughts and opinions here on Uncle Rip's board; and yes Yngvi, I may not agree on the boomer posts, but I don't mind taking pause to think about different perspectives, thank you!

    This seems appropriate:

I'm telling you, they are going to try very hard to kill him, because it's their asses if they don't.

My 35 year old nephew passed away on Christmas Eve morning. He was a strong healthy young man, who was selfless and reached out to help anyone he knew. Rest in peace Derek.

Ah geez man. My condolences to you and the other family members. Take care. I'm 36, I can barely imagine what you are all feeling.

    Fascinating article... They state:

The first fully contested proceeding was Trump’s second impeachment trial. On Jan. 13, 2021, then-President Trump was impeached for “incitement of insurrection.” At the trial in the Senate, seven Republicans joined all Democrats to provide a majority for conviction but failed to reach the two-thirds vote required for removal from office. Inciting insurrection encompasses “engaging in insurrection” against the Constitution “or giving aid and comfort to the enemies thereof,” the grounds for disqualification specified in Section 3.
...with the underlined phrase linking to Wikipedia: Second impeachment trial of Donald Trump - Wikipedia , which itself states:

At the conclusion of the trial, the Senate voted 57–43 to convict Trump of inciting insurrection, falling 10 votes short of the two-thirds majority required by the Constitution, and Trump was therefore acquitted.
Framing it as "...to provide a majority for conviction but failed to reach the two-thirds vote required for removal from office..." is kind of like saying that I had $30,000 to purchase a car, but failed to have the $33,000 required to remove it from the lot, and thereby arguing that the dealer owes me the vehicle.

"Majority for conviction" isn't the game being played in an impeachment, any more than the popular vote is the game being played in the presidential election.

Thank you. It's been rough, family is close and we're all helping each other through this.
