combined with a centralised vaccine ID database, during the time of an unprecedented economic Greatest Depression event, sounds like hell.

The media are whipping up stories about a second wave of this novel coronavirus (which is, by this point, is very obviously just like many other coronaviruses), and you can bet the scientific guild (sorry, scientific community), will announce wave after wave until they have achieved what ever the fuck needs to be achieved.
I'm trying to get a handle on the blockchain currency thing, because it looks like it's going to be the future of money.

The stuff going on in the financial market is what really terrifies me. Here's an interesting hot-take on how J. Powell is handling the situation.

It's not a problem for him, kinda like closing my gym is not a problem for him.

And as we type, FOX NEWS is reporting that today a record number of new cases of COVID-19 have been reported, making this the most deadly day so far in The Pandemic. Without so much as a word of explanation about the relationship between the number of tests and the number of cases. The fear must be maintained at all costs, lest the farm animals begin to realize they are being driven along the fence.

I woke up Friday with my left knee and calf swollen to the size of a morbidly obese woman’s. My first visit to a doctor revealed it was bursitis. My second visit to a different doctor after my leg was covered with red blotches revealed it was badly infected bursitis. My third visit to an orthopedic doctor revealed that it is indeed badly infected and not responding well to antibiotics, and I may have blood clots in my calf as well. Due to this current pandemic I am unable to get a fucking ultrasound to find out if I have a blood clot, and unable to get the infection drained from my softball sized kneecap. How the fuck is Coronavirus more deadly to me than this current situation I am facing? This is the second time during this shit I’ve been turned away from medical care because all resources are diverted to the empty Coronavirus unit.

I'm trying to figure out what the stance of this group is. I may be wrong but it reminds me of a joke:

A lawyer borrows a neighbors lawnmower. When he returns it, its broken. The next day the neighbor asks the lawyer to pay for the broken lawnmower.
The lawyer replies: "I never borrowed it and it was broken when I got it."

So, is the point of this thread:
    1) That the disease is a hoax, that the experts are wrong, that wearing masks doesn't help and its not really as deadly and contagious as people say.
    OR
    2) It may or may not be as deadly as people say but you have no right to close my business or tell me where I'm allowed to go.

Is it both? Is it one or the other?

To paraphrase the Senator from Ohio the other day: "How many people need to give their lives for you to do what you want?"

Let's say it IS as deadly and contagious as is claimed. How many people is it worth dying for you to be able to go have a cheeseburger (or open your gym).
Based on how this thing has gone down, the CDC, WHO, and the rest have lost my trust. The story of The Boy Who Cried Wolf has been recited on a global scale. Pointing to these agencies is about as useful as looking at China's Covid numbers.

Masks used correctly in an environment where doctors and nurses are already washing their hands regularly do help. No one has suggested otherwise.

When the girl in the McDonald drive-thru wears a mask that she has not washed all week, that she has worn all morning, that she has tugged on repeatedly does not help stop any germs. People play on their phones for 10 minutes while taking a shit and will never disinfect their phones, but they think that if they throw on a mask they suddenly get a +10 defense against the Corona virus.

Masks used correctly help stop the spread of infectious diseases, but right now they're just magic little totems so that the cattle can feel like they're #inthistogether.

Goddamn, Johnsonville, you'd better find an ER that will take you RIGHT NOW.

So now Fox News is in on the scam? Thank God we have OAN to turn to!
Also, growing cases is certainly a function of heightened testing. More tests, more positives. Seems somewhat reasonable even to non-farm-animals.

“They” meaning those that want to control the masses are winning, and “they” aren’t always on the same side of an issue. But “they” are expert at separating us into smaller groups by driving wedges between us... and it’s even happening in this thread. On this relatively unknown forum.

    Wedges being driven between:
    Race
    Wealth
    Political party
    Fat & thin
    Strong & weak
    Civil Liberties vs lockdowns
    Educated vs less educated
    Masks and no masks
    Antibodies vs no antibodies
Self reliance vs reliance on the government
    2nd Amendment vs Gun control

We’re all going to lose, and lose big (meaning death and destruction) unless we figure out how come together, and resist the wedges...

I have little to no faith in that happening. That’s where the worst part of this will/is manifesting itself.

I dunno, from the posts of the folks from NYC here, it seems that the five boroughs have bigger problems in the consciousness of the occupants of those spaces far more serious than the mere Kung Flu. Blind obedience being foremost among them.
