Second, the point of the mask is to prevent others, not yourself. Currently there's a lot of people who won't go to store and shop, in an environment where no one wears a mask. It doesn't matter if these people are right or wrong, the stores need these customers.
Third, Pence runs the task force on Covid, and he's clearly stated that people should wear masks when requested, and he's stated that it's known to limit the spread. I'm not sure why people are playing clinical virologists online talking about viral particle size, when they clearly have no real experience on the matter.
Fourth, its estimated (I have no idea on how correct this number is) that 70% of the public will get Covid before herd immunity. That means 30% won't get it. There's a lot of younger people with health problems who would probably like to be part of that 30%. So ripping the bandaid off doesn't mean everyone gets it, about 90 milion american's won't get it (unless Covid just comes back every year).
And I apologize for the list of items...but point 5: I fill out 100 pages of IRS nonsense every year. The burden is insane. Entire weekends of my life doing tax garbage. And yet, somehow, people find wearing a mask as a great burden? I mean, you can't even walk your dog off-leash in America, when the dog is perfectly trained. Its illegal to have your well trained dog off-leash. Of all the things to be upset about, masks don't even make my list. One time my bank froze all my accounts. I couldn't even withdraw my own money, because the US government decided that it wanted all my passport information updated. So they just froze my accounts. Didn't even tell me they were going to do it. And people bitch about masks in the middle of a pandemic...
