You should try reading this Marx fellow you're always complaining about, Arryson. You may find that the world is a rather more complicated place than you first assumed.
Bernie has always confused me and I don't know if I would label him an old school leftist... He tried to go down the populist route by picking and choosing some social democracy parts of the Nordic model, like expanding welfare state, but was anti-free trade and wanted to raise corporate income tax which definitely doesn't sit within the definition of the Nordic model.

He had no intention of wealth redistribution proper and overthrowing the means of production - so you can't accurately call him a socialist. I mean, a socialist wouldn't call him a socialist. To a libertarian type, he may be labelled as a socialist, as they define "socialism" differently. In my former libertarian phase, I viewed him as a hard-core socialist - but isn't he just neo-liberalism with the outer appearance of social-democracy to get the populist vote?

He seems like an old school leftist who drifted right all the way over to neo-liberalism. I guess after Clinton turned the Dems into a neo-liberal party he had no choice but to follow this route, as with our Labour Party in the New Labour Tony Blair era.

From the perspective of a national socialist, he's still very confusing, but pretty much a neo-liberal I guess.

Thanks for posting this. It makes sense..... BUT I hesitate to actually trust what this says. The CDC has been so wrong about so many things, why would they be right with this?

haha! Of course the soviet people aren't our enemy... neither are the chinese people, or most common decent people of the earth just trying to survive. They are only our enemy when weaponized by the state against us. Stalin was our enemy, so was Hitler, Emperor Tojo, Mao, etc etc, the people are always caught in the middle and played like fiddles.

Our republic is very special... yes we have our war-mongering big R Republicans (Cheney) and our Environmental mongering Big D Democrats (pick one), but in the end it's we the people that mostly call the shots and we need to keep it that way. It's why War and Covid responses need to go through the Legislatures not via executive orders / mandates.

The Soviet threat, by and large, was grossly overrated, exaggerated by the intelligence community, lobbyists for the defense contractors, and fossils in the Pentagon. Then you had the true believers in academia and the media that were utterly convinced that this was the inevitable future of humanity based on evolution and science backed up with the barrel of a gun. It's hard to say who was more dangerous to civilization.

The Soviets couldn't feed themselves. They were an economic basket case. Just because they had a lot of impressive military hardware meant that the party decided that's what they were going to spend the money on. The Soviets were only kept afloat by the success of the West during those horrible decades, both in terms of information and direct aid.

No doubt this is beyond narcissistic amusement, it's megalomaniac behaviour.

It is slightly possible, that Fauci has a ”literal” tendency. It's not that uncommon.

In any case, his hypocritical outing at the baseball game, not wearing a mask while sitting shoulder to shoulder with others, and his lame excuse, has permanently destroyed his credibility.

It's amazing that he allowed such an obvious mistake to occur. It's not like the paparazzi was hiding in a hot dog cart.

My employer does almost this. There’s a “wellness check” kiosk/ipad at the entrance. Someone probably caught a cold from one of his children,
entered “scratchy throat/headache”, was labeled as high risk, and was prohibited from entering. That person will be contacted by some group in the company for follow-up.
