I know all about ‘anarcho-capitalism’, but that’s isn’t capitalism. Private organisations carrying out violence have no objective law. They look exactly what they appear to be, which is rival gangs. Capitalism has to be set up from the beginning as objective laws protecting individual rights and it requires the appointment of one entity which protects those rights under one set of rules. It’s complete fantasy to believe that rival gangs would protect rights.

I have absolutely no idea what you read that led you to believe that “many socialists in Germany readily embraced the Nazi’s because, bar some nominal differences, it pretty much fit their collectivist goals”, but this is… wrong, to say the least. The German Reds were the fiercest adversaries of the Nazi’s in post-1928 Germany. In fact, the German banking establishment and surprisingly large swathes of the jewish intelligentsia/cognoscenti supported the Nazi’s because they believed it was the only way to save the overwhelmingly powerful moneylending system they had created. I’m sorry, but… do you have any evidence whatsoever that the German Reds were cooperating with the Nazi’s? This is just such an utterly bizarre idea that I’m authentically curious about where you picked it up…

You aren’t aware of the profound sense inevitability surrounding the prospect of increased Bolshevik influence during that period. Hitler was not being a rambling, incoherent fool as he blamed the Jews for the evils of communism and the evils of capitalism in the same breath; rather, he was reflecting the nigh-ubiquitous pre-war perspective that one inevitably led to the other.

The current system is really-existing capitalism, just as Stalin’s totalitarianism is really-existing Marxist-leninism. If the People allow their government to become small and weak enough to be pushed around by big corps, then the “capitalists” simply build it back up again in their own image. This is how we arrived at the Frankenstinian abomination that just hugged its knees for big tech and exists primarily to bail out banks and corps at the moment.

Corps and banks are only interested in money, my friend. They are not going to refrain from instrumentalizing the government in order to make more out of some quixotic desire to uphold the Good and Just nature of pure capitalism.
Your view of Germany is equally bizarre to me. We don’t have capitalism. We have a mixed economy. We won’t have pure capitalism until we have the philosophy to underpin it and we are a long way from getting from here to there. It requires the rediscovery of reason, but I see no signs this will occur. Certainly not in Europe and America is spinning further away from it.

Have you guys heard about Belarus (Mainstream Media call them the last dictatorship in Europe) ? They dont have a Corona-Crisis because in their own words they cant afford it, and dont participate. When they now wanted to loan Money from the IMF, they were told that they would only get it if they would as well do Lockdowns, Quarantäne, Isolation etc. Nothing but a big Agenda to crash the System and bring in their New World Order.

That's not the problem, Rip. The problem is: what do we do now that our adversaries know that a virus, so altered by gain of function, can do this much damage to us? The entire reason why viruses were no longer considered for use as a weapon is because of how indiscriminate they are. SARS-COV-2 solved that problem -- a weapon doesn't need to kill.

Which of our enemies would not trade 0.N% of their population for the destruction of 33% of our GDP?

The ongoing panic being whipped up and maintained by media and politicians over the Kung Flu notwithstanding, there are signs that the antifa/BLM has run it's course by overplaying it's hand. Just like it's predecessors in the 70's and the more recent LGBTQ fashion du jour of leftism.

Once the tax paying middle class begins to get their own oxen gored by the trendy media darlings, they push back. Rather unexpectedly in Washington state in the instance of the aggressive grungers. And earlier last year by parents when their daughters began to get aced out of athletic scholarships by opportunistic confused male adolescents in high school athletics.

This too shall pass. I have to believe that a number of governors and mayors have ended their political futures in 2020 because they followed the DNC pied piper to defeat Trump.

The man is an Intellectual Colossus. Look at these credentials:

    And his insight is profound:
Well of course he is is! it's even in his name. But what right do a guy who's a son of a Christian and another guy who's named after some medieval foot torture technique have to criticize his views?

Didn't China buy out Marvel? I'm beginning to think maybe Stan Lee's death was faked and he's now working as a bot for them.

Next week we'll be hearing from Dr. Christopher Clever and Phd Gerry Genius on how rushed vaccines are the best vaccines.

In the US, we are now closing in on 0.05% of the population dead from COVID. It’s hard to know what percentage of the population has been exposed so far. About 1.5% of the population has had a positive test. I think the fatality rate of COVID infection will turn out to be 0.5- 1%, maybe a little less as we continue to figure out how to treat it. Right now in the US, the fatality rate of known COVID cases is about 3%. I think there are a lot more asymptomatic “cases” out there, so this rate will come down as the dust settles.

So if half the US population gets it, and 0.5-1% of those infected do die, we should expect a death toll of about 800k-1.6mil over the next year or however long it takes for the virus to reach half the population.

That’s worth some prevention/containment/eradication effort, no?

The age old conspiracy-theory debate.... The issue with all of those theories is that they are exceptionally hard to prove at the beginning and middle stages, and since history is written by the victor they don't always even get outed at the end. I think everyone is a conspiracy theorist... even left-leaning folks think the conspiracy is that Trump-et-all (his followers) are aiming for some kind of nazi-america. Even if the media didn't push them this way, their own belief structure would guide them toward it.

So I guess what I"m saying is ...chicken or egg... there may actually be high level conspiracies going on, but also, there are many people who want to believe conspiracy theories because that's how we think. Humans coming from tough times in small tribes, it's somewhat wired in our DNA to pull the threads on all these angles so we don't get caught on the wrong side of a Fred-Wilma hostile cave takeover... we are the survivors after all.

I talk at length with one of my friends about this. He is as conservative as they come but strongly believes that people (all people) are so selfish, self-serving, and at the highest level after their own interests that conspiracies don't hold together, at least for very long. Like trying to be a shot-caller on a prison yard, make a mistake and you're out. Nobody can keep secrets. Will people exert influence? Sure. Do people with a lot of money want to make more money? Sure. Do people with money and control try to influence world outcomes? Sure. But is it nefarious aimed at some organized and specific outcome? Not sure they can pull it off. Remember the old government motto: "I'm with the government and I'm here to help".. the best laid plans sometimes go awry.

Always follow the money, I have never seen that method offer a worse solution than any conspiracy theory.

He's certainly doing something "they" don't like. But they may also simply be trying to make a living off of hating him.
