It's all Fauci's fault

Actually, the average Uber driver makes about 30,000 a year gross, according to indeed.com. (I'm being VERY generous by granting you this number, those of us who have actually had to pay bills while working for the company know that it is much less)* People who make less than $47,000 a year gross in California need government assistance just to eke out a desperate, precarious subsistence, so it is not accurate to say that they were "making a living".
The working people of this country are not interested in your facetiously labelled "freedom" to make five dollars an hour, Rip; if they were, they would have just voted for Clinton. Instead, they voted for Trump, because they saw in him a way to countervail the vicious assault that the democrat party has been unleashing on them since her husband's administration. After Trump betrayed them, they abandoned him in droves, setting up what appears to be a historic drubbing on November 3rd. In the minutes and hours after the outcome of the contest is confirmed, men like you will come to earnestly believe that America has misjudged you.
Did you misjudge America?

Then why on earth would anybody choose to do it? But you're probably right. They have no business making the choice for themselves, since they're just not as smart as you are about their own existences. The theft of these poor people's time for the paltry sum of $30K/year doesn't seem like a choice any sane person would make. And of course the loss of a part-time job's $30K out of an already shitty income is a negligible amount. Shut them down.
This is pretty good. Be sure to send it around.
They didn't "choose" to spend all their waking hours on inane, ill-compensated labor. They were compelled by circumstances. In this case, the circumstances are yawning wealth inequality, an exploitative employment credentialing system, and the erosion of the middle class. Many of the drivers choosing to fight for enough money to support themselves are hardworking, virtuous, and otherwise deserving of basic dignities. Their struggle against a nameless, faceless megacorp is heroic. You sneer at them: Qu'ils mangent de la brioche!
WHY, Mark? WHY?!
And many of the people that did die, actually could of been saved if this criminal wouldn't have vilified the below protocol!

COVID-19 outpatients – early risk-stratified treatment with zinc plus low dose hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin: a retrospective case series study
COVID-19 outpatients – early risk-stratified treatment with zinc plus low dose hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin: a retrospective case series study - ScienceDirect
Setting
General practice.
Participants
141 COVID-19 patients with laboratory confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections in the year 2020.
Main outcome measures
Risk-stratified treatment decision, rate of hospitalization and all-cause death.
Results
After 4 days (median, IQR 3-6, available for N=66/141) of onset of symptoms, 141 patients (median age 58 years, IQR 40-67; 73% male) received a prescription for the triple therapy for 5 days. Independent public reference data from 377 confirmed COVID-19 patients of the same community were used as untreated control. 4 of 141 treated patients (2.8%) were hospitalized, which was significantly less (p<0.001) compared with 58 of 377 untreated patients (15.4%) (odds ratio 0.16, 95% CI 0.06-0.5). One patient (0.7%) died in the treatment group versus 13 patients (3.5%) in the untreated group (odds ratio 0.2, 95% CI 0.03-1.5; p=0.12). There were no cardiac side effects.
Conclusions
Risk stratification-based treatment of COVID-19 outpatients as early as possible after symptom onset with the used triple therapy, including the combination of zinc with low dose hydroxychloroquine, was associated with significantly fewer hospitalizations.
I, for one, am ecstatic that Rip's SS Radio interns finally found him that button to monetize his videos. He should've done that much sooner, IMHO - the info he provides shouldn't be free, even, let alone without ANY ad revenue.
But unless I'm missing something, isn't this board devoid of any advertising??
Mueller, where does your love for and trust in government solutions come from?
Your statements above are the perfect example of the dichotomy on display in America between big gubmint (Progressives, Democratic Socialists, RINO (Swamp) Republicans) lovers and liberty lovers (strict constitutionalists, Libertarians, "actual" (Conservative) Republicans...).
Allow me to paraphrase what you have stated above:
Federal government responses *can* be "good," but we just haven't seen any "good" [,competent & coordinated] responses tried YET.
Where's your LMFAO smilie, Rip?
I'm just amazed at the level of trust in federal politicians, bureaucrats, and institutions to presume, in almost any situation, that the federal government failed because it wasn't doing or given ENOUGH to successfully respond.
Does our government exist in a vacuum, devoid of human nature?
I think this is another example of how I described our political landscape dozens of pages earlier: grown adults playing make believe, ignoring or changing definitions of historical and biological facts, to obtain political power.
