"Why is taxing the wealthy to provide food and housing for folks born with, say, an 85 IQ such a repulsive idea for you?"

    Translated from leftist to English.

85 IQ person: "Why do I get this free stuff?"

Government Official: "Because you are dumb."

Taxpayer #1: "Where do all these taxes go?"

Taxpayer #2: "The dumb people get it."

That's not the pertinent counter argument IMO. More importantly, and you guys in the West who still have a semblance of capitalism don't really understand this properly because you don't have as strong a bureaucracy:

If you were to tax the "wealthy" in order to provide for the 85 IQ crowd, you would get three administrators for a single 85 IQ person. The money would of course not go to our poor nr 85, because the support staff paychecks would eat it all up. Then the government would form three or four select committees to ascertain the reasons for our dear nr 85 being poorer than when the program started. The committee would most certainly deduce that the problem lies in poor funding, which would be corrected by raising more money from the lowest income tax bracket. I mean, taking a one percent hit on your salary is somewhat rough, but we need to help our most endangered members, don't we?

Ah, nevermind. You've been a very Enlightened, Tolerant moderator these past few weeks... I suppose I owe you good old boys a reprieve.

....but like that most renowned socialist of western cinema (Frosty the Snowman) I'll be back one day, shortly after the first pale, limpid snow of winter has blanketed the North Texas ground--unbowed, unbent, unbroken... and spreading my shrill, coruscating brand of SOCIALISM to all four corners of the earth...
Why is it acceptable to rob people to salve your moral position. Why should anyone be made a sacrificial beast of burden to anyone else ? Why doesn’t a mans life and production correctly belong to him and he alone ? What gives you the right to take it from him at gunpoint ? It’s nothing more than theft. Didn’t mummy teach you not to steal ?

If people wish to be charitable then that should be up to them, but pointing guns at them and robbing them is immoral, it is pure evil.

The author of the 2030 article is, to say the least, out of touch. Evidence:

In our city we don't pay any rent, because someone else is using our free space whenever we do not need it. My living room is used for business meetings when I am not there.

Exactly what business would happen in this "utopia"? Why would they need meetings?

Gods I HOPE we don't turn into that. That is NOT how I want to live. Zero self-reliance.

As soon as I read the first sentence I knew I had to reply. I have no clue why people try to discuss things they don't even know the first thing about. Like I said, when I do my summer weekends after the kids are asleep, I make $50/hr or more but only make about 10-13k for the year. This works perfectly for me , and the demand is obviously there for drunk vacationers wanting to party but not deal with DUI's or parking on a small island. It's a win/win, and just one example of what ride share is intended for.

The small amount of ride share drivers picketing for the government to make them employees; for set schedules, 15-18$/hr, performance reviews, etc. are the ones who are either not intelligent enough or don't put in the work in their local area to see how they can make ride share work for them based on local demand patterns. The majority of rideshare drivers would never sign up for this; and when there are little to no drivers available, the passengers will look for alternative means of transportation, thus lowering demand; leading to driver lay-offs. Not to even get into the minutia of how the pricing models would have to change.

In this case, there's no argument for more government regulation being a good thing.

This is The Left. They are not to be reasoned with. They are to be defeated. And deleted after I show you what they really want, as I have done.

This points out the problems with The Science that all the 105s seem to revere as their new god. They have been taught that "peer review" generates Truth. The net effect of this relinquishment of the decision-making process to professional researchers (as opposed to actual scientists) is that commercial, professional, and academic interests have assumed control of the narrative. This is, ah, problematic, to use one of their favorite words.

I assume you have let these folks sleep in your house regularly, right? You buy their groceries and feed them regularly, right?

Some of the other left leaning folks on this thread at least attempted to not be an arrogant, condescending prick. You have on the other hand.

So, do this.....take your salary (what do you do, BTW?) and give it all... EVERY PENNY... To those with 85 IQs. Once you do that, come back and talk.

It is just so appalling to see this happening in a western country. https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/...ing-antifa-mob

How did you conclude that 3 houses is fair and four is not? Does square ft matter? Location? Age? Value?

Can you describe a fair system specifically or only generally? If only generally, who and how does it get decided?
