I am sure you can. Victoriastan has a Premier (Governor), he is equivalent to your Democrats which tells you everything. The PM of Australia is equivalent to your Republican. We have the same problem as the US, the federal government is Liberal "Republican" whereas various states here are Labor "Democrat".

She was going to die anyway, since that's what 80-year-old women do in rest homes, and Dr. Fauci's response ensured that she died alone.
Has anyone bothered to ask the "most vulnerable" what they think?

See if you can find this data for the US.
This is not the same data exactly, but is related:
Death rate from COVID infection in the US varies from about 0 for people under 20, then increases, reaching 0.5% for people 50-69, and about 5% for people over 70. This is IFR per CDC:
COVID-19 Pandemic Planning Scenarios | CDC

If you apply these numbers to the demographics of the US population, you wind up with an overall IFR (fatality ratio of people who get infected) of about 0.7%. This comports pretty well with what countries with comparable resources are reporting: Euro countries are at about 1%, but most of them have a population that skews older than ours. 0.7% of the US is still a lot of people, but older people would make up the bulk of them by far.

The misleading thing about looking at the % of deaths by age is that it doesn't tell you what % of affected people were what age. So if Ebola hits a nursing home, 95% of the fatalities will be people over 80, say. But if Ebola hits a grade school, 95% of the deaths will be <20 or whatever. Life expectancy is an even more confusing thing to introduce. Life expectancy goes up as you get older. I don't know how uniformly COVID has been distributed across age groups and other demographics in the US. But the bottom line is: don't get COVID if you're old and want to live. And don't give COVID to your grandma. The survival curve appears to take a sharp downward turn around 70yo.

She had been losing her cognitive abilities rapidly, probably due to a lack of family contact, she developed a rapid case of pneumonia and died in the hospital by herself, having seen her granddaughter covered in a HAZMAT suit for 10 minutes the afternoon before she died -- no hugging, because the dying woman might contract the deadly COVID-19 virus. Upon autopsy, she showed pneumonia, and a positive test for the deadly COVID-19 virus. Cause of death was obviously declared COVID-19. She was going to die anyway, since that's what 80-year-old women do in rest homes, and Dr. Fauci's response ensured that she died alone. And that her children will remember this.

This has gone way too far down a very shitty road.
This makes me ill. Sick to my stomach. And furious.

And I am at a loss on what to do about it.

See if you can find this data for the US.
IL = 78.96 Illinois Life Expectancy

Utilizing the center of the class widths provided by the IDPH as the age of death, the 7 day moving average age of death for the past month has ranged from 78.4 to 81.2. Average of 79.9

From 2010 to 2018, the average deaths/day in IL increased from 275 to 300 (too lazy to look up link). Apparently, 54.17 persons/day have died of Covid during the past month.

The IDPH Covid dashboard does not provide all cause / total deaths per day. Someone fails to understand that sharing all pertinent data increases the integrity of conclusions. Oh wait.....

How might mandatory mask orders interact with open carry?

Am I the only one this sounded confusing for?

.....Well, this is a perfect opportunity for me to thank whoever it was who posted this link to a "civilized" muzzle debate:
(FULL) Digi-Debates. The Face Mask Debate - YouTube

(From the channel "Bespoken Bureau"; the moderator guy calls them digi-debates??). (sorry that I have not dug up your original post, nor remembered your name, but thank you, nonetheless!)

I watched the whole damn thing, in the spirit of trying to "listen to the other side," which that Anderson(?) fellow was accusing us of not doing, of not hearing the Liberal Truthъ, a few weeks ago here on the board.

Well the guy who was not reluctantly but SYNCOPHANTICally supporting muzzles sounded absolutely insane. Or am I being subjective?

I am beginning to agree with Rip that behavior patterns among people with similar political and social opinions are not coincidence. Perhaps all they truly deserve now, is for us to scoff at them!

They need our help for this potential plan to work. We have seen the law and constitution no longer mean anything to the judicial system.

If the plan turns out to be real this time, then that is great. But, if not, there will be many people wishing they hadn't believed it. Forever regretting that they didn't do enough.

It is better now to err on the side of overreaction rather than underreaction.
