To bring this to the attention of our American friends, they are caught up in the election fiasco, but I think this merits some attention. The UK has reportedly discovered a "new strain" of the virus, which is a whole 70 percent more virulent than the current one. Never mind that the strain has been discovered at the precise moment of the breakup of the Brexit negotiations. Fear porn is hitting the continent at a high level. Now, what have governments across the continent done? They have immediately suspended air and road travel to the UK, for a period of 48 hours now. They have effectively imposed a kind of quarantine on the island. Let us imagine what 2020 would have been like had governments done the same a year ago, when the virus appeared in Wuhan. It wouldn't have mattered much, it had obviously spread earlier than that, but there are no "hug a Brit" contests going on now, noone calling the prime ministers racist for imposing travel restrictions, no WHO calling everything safe...

The three best reasons I see to disbelieve the election fraud claim follow, and I'd be interested to hear your responses to each:

    1) Barrett, Scalia, Thomas, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh (who were briefed by a team of the sort described above), are dutiful red tribe soldiers, and would have backed Trump's case if it was even faintly plausible. Seriously, how do you lot explain their lack of support? You're saying that he appointed 3/5 of them, they had shown no signs of disloyalty with him before dismissing the case, he'd publicly supported nearly all of their stated policy positions... but they each secretly despised him for an unknown reason and decided to forego a perfectly good legal case just for the sake of making sure he gets screwed? It just doesn't add up...

    2) The risk::reward ratio for the would-be usurper isn't there, in my opinion. The evil powerhoarding class discussed in that year zero article Rip linked a few pages back don't have a preference for Biden as strong as the one you lot have supposed. Don't get me wrong, they absolutely prefer him--Trump was the anti-establishment candidate for sure. But not by that much. Recall that Biden is pledged to try to increase the corporate tax rate by 7% and raise taxes on foreign income by some unspecified amount. As much as these people love how cozy he is with China, these are considerable annoyances for amny of them. Compared to most people on this board, I think that the ruling elite-type class that is often made reference to in conversations surrounding covid and this election is actually pretty diverse in terms of which candidate they prefer, and they have the game rigged so that they can thrive under either President. So I don't see motive.

    3) I'm old enough to recall the aftermath of 2016, and unlike... well, probably everyone on this board, I vividly recall the febrile derangement that took hold in liberal internet spaces. Batshit theories about purged voter rolls in Wisconsin, utterly baseless lunacy about russian interference (this one actually gained alot of traction, you might have read about it in the news last year), and even calls for faithless electors. Then as now, there were statistician's, and legal experts willing to fan the flames in exchange for money and exposure. I think they're all grifters.

I would like to point out to you that the nurse from that video is a real person who is in fact alive. It was speculated she died because she didn't post of facebook for a few days. She merely wanted some privacy and stopped posting on social media and she fainted due to pre-existing medical conditions.

Perhaps, in an attempt to control this disgusting misinformation you should post some form of retraction and remove this post. I know that you "banned" me. The reasons why are laughable, but hey, it's your website and forum so do as you please. I could care less if you post my reply specifically, but do the right thing here. Otherwise know this is the quality of the information your views are formed on.

No offense Mark, but I don't really see you making any factual or legal arguments or rebuttals either, just links to articles and tweets and such that confirm your bias...

You were banned for being a stupidass, and have again demonstrated your ability.

My job is to post links to information, so that more people can see it. Tell us what you think happened.

Tell us what you think happened.
If only it were that simple.

I've posted a couple items that if any one is interested I'd like to see discussed:

Per standing in AG Paxton's dismissed suit:

If Texas’s state legislature were to pass a law indicating it would select republican electors in all presidential elections, would you want the precedent set that California or New York could file suit to challenge Texas’s manner of selecting electors?
Texas does not have standing under Original Jurisdiction to file this suit, the Supreme Court ruled appropriately, and not due to some vast conspiracy to prevent a DJT second term.

    Per the elections:

Let us test a couple options, I'm willing to bet there is at least one person on this board who can argue effectively for each one:

    1) the criminals are so good they don't leave behind enough evidence to prosecute
    2) Thousands of lawyers and judges and sheriffs and attorney generals and whistleblowers are in on the fraud
    3) Allegations and "evidence" are propaganda manufactured with the sole purpose of provoking a proportion of the "right" 50% of the US
My thoughts are there is probably are proportion of all three involved.

    Per covid:

Currently worse than the flu, probably not over the long run, definitely not equivalent to the government's response, should have dumped "stimulus" money to shore up health care, but it probably would have just been misappropriated any way like it always is.

I don't know, I am not sure what the #s are for other vaccines. It does seem high, although it is hard to know what the actual "health impact events" were. If 2% get lightheaded and a sore arm and want to go home and lie down, that's no big deal. It looks like the anaphylaxis rate is about 0.002%, which is actually pretty high. I would expect a pretty significant nocebo effect for this vaccine, given all the politics/debate/histrionics related to it.

    Speaking of histrionics.

Some of these "health impact events" will be fainting, like this nurse with vasovagal syncope. Pre-existing condition for her. In other words, she fainted "with" the vaccine, not "from" the vaccine. Shouldn't count as a vaccine reaction, obviously.

Nobody here started this claim, dimwit. Most recognized it was likely bullshit. The person that posted was asking if anyone else had seen it or if it had been confirmed, that is not the same as spreading it, though you may not have the faculties to grasp such nuance. You can let go of your pearls.
