Are you assuming that we’ve had a working antibody test this whole time?

And 500,000 deaths per year are attributed to smoking-related diseases in the US. What will it take to end this carnage? The answer is obvious, etc.

This is a silly position you have assumed.
Thanks for the laugh Mark but this comparison is also quite silly. According to the DOT, 33-54 year old males drive ~19k miles a year. Meanwhile, the NHTSA recorded that in 2017, the vehicle fatality rate was 1.16% per 100 million miles traveled. It takes an entire lifetime as a driver to even come close to the low end of "case fatality ratios" we have debating for Covid.

You aren't concerned with unnecessary 36,000 deaths? With 500,000 unnecessary deaths? You heartless monster. If it saves one life, it will be worth it.

I would like to hear more about these taxpayers paying my wages. Nothing beyond this is worth mentioning.

This graph, provided by our friend lazygun69, shows an interesting trend for the overwhelmed epicenter of western culture, NYC:

I get home and often change into "inside clothes."

Thats a far cry from "no outside clothes worn inside."

Yeah yeah yeah, some bleeding hearts said that. But I'll take your pivot as a point of pride that you've acknowledged the strength of this thesis. Covid's potential fatality is remarkable, and incomparable to the typical risks of our daily lives. Those risks take lifetimes to become as statistically deadly, and by the way are also heavily regulated. We can continue debate the specifics, but we should at least agree on this general point: that one of these risks ain't like the others.

We did. But the FDA approved it only a week ago:

On March 26, 2020, the FDA named 29 entities that provided notification to the agency as required and are now therefore able to distribute their antibody tests.[33] One test[34] recently approved by the FDA can give a result in 15 minutes. It has a 91% clinical specificity rate and a 99% clinical sensitivity rate, according to a news release. A highly sensitive test rarely overlooks an actual positive. A highly specific test rarely registers a positive classification for anything that is not the target of testing.
So, why is there no data?

The European Union is starting to look like something from US Republicans wet dreams. All the member states are doing things on their own, the Union is there simply as a money printing facility. All we need now is some joint armed forces thing, since the mock president and House of Representatives are already there and off we go, even more so if we divert farm and fisheries subsidies to the army. It will take ten years or so until we match you guys in capital expenditure for making bombs, but the Germans are pretty good on the ROI side of things, and it will boost the hell out of their industry, which is always cool in their book.

The sheer incompetence of the Chinese response to the crisis must surely be putting an end to all the lunatics' fantasies of global authoritarian rule as the foundation of the New World Order. I've never ever seen this amount of leakage coming from there, ever. The dudes can't even pretend to be opening factories for more than two days. Now provinces are asking their residents really nicely to stay in their homes. What happened to welding doors shut? How long until we start getting news from Beijing and Shanghai? This is gonna be the great test of political theories, is government a matter of force or consent? Will the rising Chinese middle class be satisfied with being run by a combination of state bureaucrats and financial oligarchs? Stay tuned, the answers are coming by early fall.

The Russian fake news outlets all over Europe have gotten so good that leaders small time populist movements that have somehow managed to creep they way into national parliaments are quoting them verbatim, causing even the sceptic public at large to start preparing pitchforks. They were doing a good job in general, but they started letting the anti-vaccine psychos start writing open letters to governments.

And for my favourite bit: the nanny state, heralded as the single remaining left-over from unenlightened times, about to die the boring death it deserved for so long, is making the biggest comeback of all times, by popular demand! Never mind the intellectuals you guys are quoting here, all the polling strongly suggests that citizens the world over are demanding even stricter measures.
