I completely agree with you. It needs to receive much much more attention. These guys have a good understanding of China and they have been demonitized by Youtube for speaking: YouTube
Additional observations locally: A large number of the mask-wearing populace have begun wearing dark, opaque sunglasses inside grocery stores. Is it possible this virus can be spread through making eye contact? Be careful!

I received this email from a customer today who is an Emergency Room Physician just outside of Boston. He also has a private practice in a "non-essential" medical field. The state shut his non-essential medical business down so he went back to work in the ED full time (back East they call it the Emergency Department--here in Utah we call it the Emergency Room).

I tested one guy [so far for Covid-19]. I don’t do many shifts in the ED [Emergency Department] right now. That said I am ramping up. With the Covid and closing of the state we are seeing less patients in [his "non-essential" doctor job]. I am now working at one hospital but will be working at a second soon!

There are warnings for lots of things. Tensions were high before Pearl Harbor. People said things. You can't believe every warning.
The economies of North Korea, Venezuela and Cuba were ruined by socialist/communist opportunists who seized power in a crisis. If every flu season is a "crisis," can you see my problem?
How do we even know that the virus is not "unchecked"? Is what we're doing effective? Got some peer reviewed "science" to back that up???
No, much like war, there are a lot of unknowns. We are following the best guesses of our leaders. Not for the first time.
Are the jobs coming back? Great question. I don't know and neither do you. That is what it means to be in uncharted waters.
I will say that time is critical.
Any good solution "could have been sooner". That is intellectually bankrupt to say.

I'm not a fan of the way Youtube has handled themselves in many situations (if it weren't for Patreon, a lot of important content and information would not thrive), but in this case, they seem to be demonitizing all coronavirus stuff, regardless of what points are being made.

David... I think the experience of your customer is not typical in terms of covid volume. As you know, I also work at a hospital west of Boston. We have about 750 beds total. Most of the covid+ patients are sent home to quarantine if they are not ill. Currently in hospital are about 130 COVID patients: about 90 have tested positive, the others are awaiting results and have symptoms consistent with covid. Nearly all of these are sick enough to be in the hospital. A few get held for other reasons. We have had about 60 employees test positive so far as well. Of the ten or so positive employees I know personally, one is critically ill on a ventilator. He is 40. This virus spreads easily, and when you get sick from it, you get pretty damn sick. Luckily most have a milder course.
As a doctor, I am aware of the limits of what medical interventions can do. I don't think doctors can or should advise at all on the economy, unless they are qualified in other ways. In other words, e.g. Fauci can and is supposed to tell Trump: this disease is a mofo and will kill lots of people. If you clamp down like a dictator you can minimize the deaths. And Mnuchin or whoever should be saying: but if you shut everything down the economy's fucked for a generation. It's up to Trump et al to figure out how to save the economy and balance that against the epidemic. Of course the equivalent happens on a state and local level. Difficult and tragic tradeoffs have to happen, and that's the job you sign up for when you take an oath of office, so nobody should complain or get extra credit for having to make the tough choices.
We will know just how bad this was once the dust settles, but from a medical standpoint this is not "just a flu."
