The GoFundMe raised $40,000 in two days.

The campaign has been reported for violating GoFundMe’s terms. One person who reported says he did so because the campaign supports “illegal activity.” GoFundMe has yet to publicly issue a ruling.

    Wedges being driven between:
    Race
    Wealth
    Political party
    Fat & thin
    Strong & weak
    Civil Liberties vs lockdowns
    Educated vs less educated
    Masks and no masks
    Antibodies vs no antibodies
Self reliance vs reliance on the government
    2nd Amendment vs Gun control

We’re all going to lose, and lose big (meaning death and destruction) unless we figure out how come together, and resist the wedges...

I have little to no faith in that happening. That’s where the worst part of this will/is manifesting itself.
You left out urban and rural.

I do not hate him. However, I do view him as too self-sure, prideful or fearful to engage in honest intellectual inquiry. SpaceDriver got a lot of flack, but he at least seemed capable of honest intellectual inquiry.

Scotand was the birthplace of Adam Smith. The ruling SNP have more in common with Pol Pot in terms of their approach unfortunately.
Are there not enough Scots left in Scotland to see a traditional Scottish uprising?

Let's say it IS as deadly and contagious as is claimed. How many people is it worth dying for you to be able to go have a cheeseburger (or open your gym).
How many lives of my ancestors and countrymen had to die so that I would have the freedom to make these decisions myself, based on my own rational thoughts and conscience?

My third visit to an orthopedic doctor revealed that it is indeed badly infected and not responding well to antibiotics, and I may have blood clots in my calf as well. Due to this current pandemic I am unable to get a fucking ultrasound to find out if I have a blood clot, and unable to get the infection drained from my softball sized kneecap. How the fuck is Coronavirus more deadly to me than this current situation I am facing? This is the second time during this shit I’ve been turned away from medical care because all resources are diverted to the empty Coronavirus unit.
Yeah, get the fuck in right now! Don't take "No" or "you are nonessential" for an answer!

Well said. I said earlier that I come to this forum to learn a bit more about weightlifting. I came to this thread to learn about weightlifting, or maintaining fitness, during this situation. I've reacted here and there for the reasons you're stating. I am not certain, for example, that wearing a mask is useful or effective, but if my grocery store asks me to wear a mask for the twenty minutes I spend in there, it's such a small thing it's not worth raging about, and I'm not a "farm animal" being driven off a cliff by doing so. I've been amazed at the growing "mask denier" thing as a symptom of the larger problem, and its subtext that "masks are for libs and pussies" - as if this is a binary choice, as if all masks are the same, as if all situations are the same, as if all locales have the same challenge, and as if it is somehow the test of a person's validity. Hearing someone else's point of view with resorting to insults and ridicule is NOT a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength.

I’m from Northumberland in a middle of nowhere place a stone’s throw from the Scottish border. My girlfriend is from a middle of nowhere place in Moray but is stuck here with me since its illegal for her to travel there.

Sturgeon seems to be delivering a different lockdown easing to England purely to get the message out there in Scotland that Scotland is better independent than having to listen to an idiot like Johnson who will kill everyone with crazy ideas like getting people out into society again.

She has enough power to do things differently in Scotland and if she can convince people that her way is better for the Scottish people than what England would have them do, then opinion on independence might swing her way. If everyone believes this virus needs to be hidden from, which they do, then she might just achieve this.

If Sturgeon decides to keep Scotland locked down, will central government continue to fund the furlough scheme is Scotland? If they do, then Sturgeon gets to show Scotland she was right to continue lockdown while England gets the dreaded second wave and it shows Scotland should make its own decisions. If funding is stopped, then she gets to say that England has too much control, and its stopping the Scottish economy prospering, in which case Scotland would be better independent.

If the grocery store wants me to wear a mask, and I want to shop in the store, I will wear a mask -- it's the grocery store owner's store, not mine, and it's my decision about how important it is for me to shop in the store. But 25-year-old kids driving down the street by themselves in a car with the windows rolled up are fucking pussies. Binary? I guess so. Some things are arithmetical like that. But the actual problem is the illegal orders from local government that mandate masks. Obeying illegal orders has gotten a lot of people in a lot of trouble over the years. But you go right ahead, TD.

Wow small world! I live in Elgin, bang centre of Moray/middle of nowhere.

Yup win win for Queen Nicola unfortunately. I do think it would be better for all parties if Scotland were independent, but that's another story.

Scotland is now a socialist paradise, so unfortunately not.

Critical thinking and duality is now considered white supremacy.

Great point Mark, that’s a huge one as urban voters with different needs, seem to trample on rural ways of life.

The entire purpose of the lockdowns was to prevent this scenario: the exacerbation of every other disease process.
