It seems like the Republican Party, Conservative media (Breitbart, Daily Caller, etc) and the religious Right are maimed and hobbling around for now, but may not be with us for too much longer. That's what you get for playing nice.

What's going to fill the void they leave behind?
The terrorists in San Fran have torn down the statue of Ulysses S Grant. This was the man who led according to our leftist-approved high school and college history classes led anti-slavery forces to victory in battle. Are they still making the claim that racism is the issue?

The George Washington statue in Portland has been toppled.

The first death (and another in critical condition) has occurred in the totally peaceful US occupied territory.

I had linked to it in my last post, but... the @UNGenenva account deleted their now infamous tweet, which stated the UN supported terrorist organization AntiFa:

This is starting to resemble the Taliban's iconoclasm.

Or more distantly, with similar inspirations, Pol Pot's killing fields.

The spirit of the mob is as old as humanity, though, and it doesn't give a fuck about listening. It doesn't even care about genocide, famine, and despoiling entire civilizations. It barely notices them as a means to an end -- "Utopia." It's the Avatar of Jealousy and Hubris and Progress. Either everyone from the moderate, populist left (not The Left) to the staunch conservatives seize power through peaceful and valid elections with meaningful legislative reform and shrinking of the federal government in order to restore the sovereignty and rights of the individual -- or it's bloodshed.

There is no historical example where this is not the case. There's no point in discussing it further -- every sane person is in agreement on the important points or order. The time to speak out about this bullshit has passed. Which is exceptionally painful for me to admit, and I have spent these many days re-examining my own life to figure out where I have also failed. Somewhere between Socrates and Crito it was forgotten to sacrifice the rooster to Asklepios, and so the logos in our country has died. If it dies here, does it die everywhere else in the world?

    I to my perils
    Of cheat and charmer
    Came clad in armour
    By stars benign.
    Hope lies to mortals
    And most believe her,
    But man's deceiver
    Was never mine.

    The thoughts of others
    Were light and fleeting,
    Of lovers' meeting
    Or luck or fame.
    Mine were of trouble,
    And mine were steady;
    So I was ready
    When trouble came.

It seems to me that the only end to this shit is a coup or a hot war. I've been trying to figure out how this thing is going to play out, but it's just making me more aware of how in-the-dark your average citizen is about what's really going on behind the scenes.

Military force is justified at this point, but because it's an election year and sending in the army is too big a risk for relection chances, noboby wants to do it, not even Trump.

I think this is the biggest reason a lot of mainline conservatives/Christians/2A types like myself and others on the board haven't taken it upon themselves to solve the problem on their own. They like rules and like to play by them, because they recognize that's how a society works. It's an election year and there's a chance that if things go the right way, we can continue to live in a society that plays by the rules.

Once the elections are squared away and all the little tyrants know where they stand, it'll be much easier for them to send in the National Guard and crush the rebellions. Even the politicians on the left recognize that they can take a heavier-handed approach once the know they have four more yearss to brush their broken glass under the rug.

Billboards for a popular gunshop in my area have a picture of a semi-automatic, followed by “Faster than 911”.

Stopped by their store today. Normally looks like an arsenal inside. Today, their floor~>ceiling long-gun rack was empty. Business is brisk.

Instead, just keep the UN out and let it rot until the locals recall their local politicians.

Prediction: The insurgents WILL try to bring in the UN as the new "police".

From Robert Heinlein's Starship Troopers (1959):

"But all moral problems can be illustrated by one misquotation: 'Greater love hath no man than a mother cat dying to defend her kittens.' Once you understand the problem facing that cat and how she solved it, you will then be ready to examine yourself and learn how high up the moral ladder you are capable of climbing.

"These juvenile criminals hit a low level. Born with only the instinct for survival, the highest morality they achieved was a shaky loyalty to a peer group, a street gang. But the do-gooders attempted 'to appeal to their better natures,' to 'reach them,' to 'spark their moral sense.' Tosh. They had no 'better natures'; experience had taught them that what they were doing was the way to survive. The puppy never got his spanking; therefore what he did with pleasure and success must be 'moral.'

"The basis of all morality is duty, a concept with the same relation to group that self-interest has to the individual. Nobody preached duty to these kids in a way they could understand -- that is, with a spanking. But the society they were in told them endlessly about their 'rights.'

"The results should have been predictable, since a human being has no natural rights of any nature."

Mr. Dubois has paused. Somebody took the bait. "Sir? How about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?"

"Ah, yes. The 'unalienable rights.' Each year someone quotes that magnificent poetry. Life? What 'right' to life does a man have who is drowning in the Pacific? The ocean will not hearken to his cries. What 'right' to life has a man who must die if he is to save his children? If he chooses to save his own life, does he do so as a matter of 'right'? If two men are starving and cannibalism is the only alternative to death, which man's right is 'unalienable'? And is it 'right'? As to liberty, the heroes who signed the great document pledged themselves to buy liberty with their lives. Liberty is never unalienable; it must be redeemed regularly with the blood of patriots or it always vanishes. Of all the so-called natural human rights that have ever been invented, liberty is the least likely to be cheap and is never free of cost.

"The third 'right'? -- the 'pursuit of happiness'? It is indeed unalienable but it is not a right; it is simply a universal condition which tyrants cannot take away nor patriots restore. Cast me into a dungeon, burn me at the stake, crown me king of kings, I can 'pursue happiness' as long as my brain lives -- but neither gods nor saints, wise men or subtle drugs, can insure that I will catch it."

Mr. Dubois then turned to me. "I told you that 'juvenile delinquent' is a contradiction in terms. 'Delinquent' means 'failing in duty.' But duty is an adult virtue -- indeed, a juvenile becomes an adult when, and only when, he acquires a knowledge of duty and embraces it as dearer than the self-love he was born with. There never was, there cannot be, a 'juvenile delinquent.' But for every juvenile criminal there are always one or more adult delinquents -- people of mature years who either do not know their duty, or who, knowing it, fail.

"And that was the soft spot that destroyed what was in many ways an admirable culture. The junior hoodlums who roamed their streets were symptoms of a greater sickness; their citizens (all of them counted as such) glorified their mythology of 'rights' . . . and lost track of their duties. No nation, so constituted, can endure."

What would be the justifications for federal interventions unless they first declare Antifa domestic terrorists? I think they should do this and not doing it is more dangerous to re-election than doing it.

I think what is really holding people back is the fact that we have repeatedly seen those who dare to do anything thrown under the bus or left to fight solo. Trump himself watched as his supporters and conservatives in general were blacklisted on social media and people getting their asses kicked at rallies and such and didn't do a damned thing until it touched his current re-election campaign. I don't know why anyone would expect a rescue from him after his re-election.

Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior.

This is just dereliction of duty in my opinion. He's not our dad and letting the innocent people in these communities suffer so he can gain political points is evil.
