I don't think this is necessarily true. Read some of Satch's posts in the libertarian books thread about Hans Hermann-Hoppe. As long as you have private organizations that can carry out the violence necessary to enforce property ownership, you could have anarcho-capitalism--check out the wikipedia page for it.

Man, I'm really going to have to start watching my step around here. If I piss rip off any more, he might even take me out of the will.

“It’s so cheap”, “better than nothing”, and “the least you can do” admit a huge number of pointless interventions. Public health is trickier than this.

A similar discussion must be had about infrared thermometers.

    None of this is correct.

Many of the socialist in Germany readily embraced the National Socialists because, bar some nominal differences, it pretty much fitted their collectivist goals.

The accusation that Rip and others are ‘right wing’ in the because they are capitalists is plain wrong. Right and Left are flip sides of the same coin, separated nominally by the way in which the stare acquires private property. The left takes it outright, the right leaves it with the owner, but the owner is effectively a state employee. What the Nazis realised is that businesses owners made the best slaves, where as the Communists removed the owners and substituted those unfamiliar and ill equipped to run those businesses efficiently.

Today we have a new breed of economic fascism -cronyism-the revolving door between big business and the state. It’s impossible to know exactly which one is making policy. Meanwhile we have socialist welfare systems for everyone else. We have big deficit spending Governments-many now Trillions deep in debt. None of that is even close to capitalism.
You're quoting Arrysons post but responding to my points.

I have absolutely no idea what you read that led you to believe that “many socialists in Germany readily embraced the Nazi’s because, bar some nominal differences, it pretty much fit their collectivist goals”, but this is… wrong, to say the least. The German Reds were the fiercest adversaries of the Nazi’s in post-1928 Germany. In fact, the German banking establishment and surprisingly large swathes of the jewish intelligentsia/cognoscenti supported the Nazi’s because they believed it was the only way to save the overwhelmingly powerful moneylending system they had created. I’m sorry, but… do you have any evidence whatsoever that the German Reds were cooperating with the Nazi’s? This is just such an utterly bizarre idea that I’m authentically curious about where you picked it up…

You aren’t aware of the profound sense inevitability surrounding the prospect of increased Bolshevik influence during that period. Hitler was not being a rambling, incoherent fool as he blamed the Jews for the evils of communism and the evils of capitalism in the same breath; rather, he was reflecting the nigh-ubiquitous pre-war perspective that one inevitably led to the other.

The current system is really-existing capitalism, just as Stalin’s totalitarianism is really-existing Marxist-leninism. If the People allow their government to become small and weak enough to be pushed around by big corps, then the “capitalists” simply build it back up again in their own image. This is how we arrived at the Frankenstinian abomination that just hugged its knees for big tech and exists primarily to bail out banks and corps at the moment.

Corps and banks are only interested in money, my friend. They are not going to refrain from instrumentalizing the government in order to make more out of some quixotic desire to uphold the Good and Just nature of pure capitalism.

I live in Melbourne Victoria, how the fuck can I escape this madness? I can’t even cross the border because clearly I am the most deadliest of weapons in human form and will likely kill any human being that I pass within 1.5m even with my mask on.
At least I can continue to get strong on SS NLP in my garage !

Are you sure pointing a military at the "who" isn't exactly what the beast wants us to do?
    Point take, Steve.

Since you are new, I'll go ahead and tell you: nobody here buys into my worldview...yet ;-)

I believe there is a relatively small group of people running these school plays. So, when I say "point a military"...in my worldview, it is primarily military intelligence...setting up a legal take-down of "the beast".

Example: December, 2017 Executive Order Blocking the Property of Persons Involved in Serious Human Rights Abuse or Corruption

When we see the world's media marching in lockstep, it tells me a small group controls it all...and thus controls the minds of the people worldwide. And that's just one of many mechanisms of control "the beast" has, in my worldview. Blackmail & money are the other major mechanisms.

We can't move forward until that control is dismantled and disclosed to the people. I pray that is happening right now. The artificial hatred programmed for President Trump tells me he is the first President since Kennedy to go after "the beast", and he's not afraid of "it".

Again, the consensus here is more grounded in a traditional worldview. Perhaps that is starting to change as the absurdity of the false reality is becoming more apparent. Thanks for commenting.

    Let's start the FearPorn tonight:

COVID-19 will disrupt US for years, Ex-WHO doctor Larry Brilliant says

The man is an Intellectual Colossus. Look at these credentials:

The immediate challenges are Labor Day get-togethers, the return of schools, flu season in the the fall and winter and long election lines in November, said Brilliant, who was an adviser for the 2011 film "Contagion" and team doctor for the rock band the Grateful Dead.
    And his insight is profound:

He said the virus will continue to spread until something stops its growth, possibly the combination of effective vaccines with annual boosters and immunity among those who've developed antibodies to halt or limit future infections.

Why would we spend the time and resources necessary to eradicate a virus that only kills 0.003% or so of a population?
