And the Fucking NBA. I've never watched professional sports, but I've never before considered myself patriotic for not doing so.
I have not watched sports in a long time. I just find them boring when I could be doing something outside or training . However, I recognize that professional sports could be a powerful source of good right now. Instead of this crap, these organizations could try uniting people, having both black leaders and police officials shown together. Many professional sports have a large mix of black and white people. Showing them playing, enjoying the game together, and showing respect for each other would help. Instead "bitch-ass white boy" was said the other night to a top-tier white NBA player by another NBA player. I mean, sports could actually be a quick fix to 2020. If there is one platform that could easily bring us closer together quickly, it would be professional sports. BUT, as we have seen, our culture has crept into sports, as we all knew it would. Our narcissistic need for supply, through virtue signaling and passive-aggressiveness has touched all parts of our society. The reason they don't try to unite us, is because it is not in their best interest, nor do they actually want to see humans behaving at their prime. They want to see our ugly sides, they want us at our throats, they just do it through covert methods.

Both entirely correct statements in response to comments that presented the situation as something other than what I wrote.

That would make my comment a direct response to another comment. Which is apparently very important since you're so very worried that I either stay on task or shut up.

And Whine-stein is a whining. So my joke that IS commentary on his presentation of an idea that sounds like something a kindergarten class came up with.

Isn't that the whole idea behind your nation? If Americans don't loudly support this young lad, then it's all for naught.
This prosecution of this kid is just to make sure that if they cannot take you guns they will make you afraid to use them, even in the most obvious cases of self defense. Without support the kid and his family can easily win the case and still have their live ruined financially in the process of doing so.

I do question some other legalities in this case though. He was a minor crossing state lines with a firearm, which could pose a problem. And there might be issue of whether he was actually trespassing or not by being in the car lot where he shot the first terrorist, but none of these things changes his right to defend himself from anyone trying to do him harm.

They should just put a Federal bounty on looters and then this would end almost immediately.

And I love the TB Rays (baseball), and TB Lightning (Hockey)...the lightning had a day off yesterday, anyway.

I had a very long workout today, about three hours, and I took the opportunity to catch up on some entertainment (US political podcasts). I listened to the latest Ben Shapiro, and then the latest Pod Save America.

It's really amazing how at odds the narratives describing ostensibly the same set of events have become. They both discussed the RNC, the Blake shooting, the protests and riots generally, COVID, the NBA/Le Bron thing and the upcoming election, but you'd think they were describing alternate realities. Do normal people really see things so radically differently? Are you having face to face discussions with people, on the ground, in your lives, that mirror this divide, or is it a product of the incentives and structures around broadcasting and news media, and the way that online opinion athletics tends to push towards entrenched extremes? You hear about the echo chamber phenomenon, but it's something else to hear it in practice in such a stark and up to the minute way.

It looks from the outside like the only thing 100% of Americans agree on is that half of the country is demented or evil.

Nick Sandmann's lawyer is now representing Kyle:

I will not take one thin dime from #FightBack Foundation donations for my time or expenses. I have security team of Navy SEALS to provide security for me, my family, my employees, & my neighbors. I will pay those costs. I will not be intimidated by leftist tactics or threats.
    Fight Back

He's also collecting media defamation to sue them all again.

Also, take a look at the Probable Cause section of this criminal complaint against Jacob Blake:

You can complain that the police are incompetent, but fuck this guy.

Sports will not go away, nor should they. We have choices in what we support. We can support more amateur sports and semi-pro sports that don't care about politics. I haven't seen many golfers, martial artists, tennis players, swimmers, handball players, Aus rules football players, lacrosse players, strongman competitors etc extorting their fan base to support terrorism and Marxism. It is just a continuation of the culture wars; the next step after the politicization of film and television.

Did the carloads of Antifa travelling across the country get this memo, too?
It is still time to remain calm, promote unity and advocate strong nationalism. Defend yourself, your community and businesses, but allow the leftists to riot unimpeded if possible. We want as many people as possible to experience the realities of socialism and "racial justice". They will remember for a lifetime.

Yes. I thought it was a phenomenon in all English-speaking countries and the EU.

I don't have discussions like that, no, because they are pointless. I've long since given up on trying to reason with people because they don't care. They will ignore or dismiss anything you bring up as "fake". They will only latch on to what they want to to confirm their own views. I don't think half the country is evil, but possibly more than half of it is very demented.

The average IQ in the United States is 103. We tend to forget that.

Hell, that's no excuse. The problem is the average person in the United States with a 103 thinks they're a 130.

I'd be interested in an actual lawyer's take, like say, Brodie's on this teenager from Illinois and his actions that lead up to the shootings. If you ignore that he seems to have had no ties to Kenosha, at least that we know of, his actions in defense of himself don't seem out of line. Information is coming out now that all three of the thugs he shot had criminal records and the one who got shot in the arm and survived had a pistol in his hand.

So why was the teen there? Did he work at a business there he was defending? Or a home or relative that he wanted to help and assist in defending? Because if the answer to either of those questions is no, it looks to me like he had no good reason to cross state lines and carry around a firearm in a community he didn't seem to have any ties to. Even if he did, if there was a responsible adult in the vicinity whose home or business he was defending should have kept him reined in close to that place. If not send him back to Antioch where he lived. One also has to wonder about this teen's parents. Where were they?

I dunno, he was too young to be a legal security guard and in any event, probably not eligible to be one as a non-resident of WI in accordance with their regulations for such guards. He had no duty to perform. I can't see how he could claim any kind of citizen's arrest powers either. He placed himself in this situation and it went bad on him. And that is where it seems to me the problem begins for him in a clear claim of minding his own business and then being attacked. We're well rid of the two dead guys, and the 3rd one will have a permanent reminder of his own part in this. No regrets about that either.
