    Has anyone else observed differently?
Nope, but I did attend two different IFBB shows to support my girl this summer. One of them was the first week of july in utah: packed room, ZERO people wearing masks, no infections reported. The second was august 1st in Florida, when the media was shitting its pants over the “new epicenter of the pandemic, Florida”: again, packed room, masks were required by the state, but the announcer openly joked about them. Again, no infections reported.

As you can imagine, most bodybuilders are not fans of the panicky, soyboy leftists throwing hissy fits over mask wearing and social distancing.

I haven’t heard of a single bodybuilder being hit hard by covid and my gf follows the current events in that sector religiously.

I'm thoroughly and utterly convinced we would not have heard about it if anyone else was in office. It is that insane out there.

The latest cop shit: This time we will wait to decide, as we have learned to do.

Los Angeles police fatally shoot Black man after suspected ...

A Black cyclist was fatally shot by Los Angeles County police, the latest instance of police killing a Black man, as the county Sheriff's Department and a lawyer representing the man's family gave diverging accounts of the shooting on Tuesday.

The cyclist, 29-year-old Dijon Kizzee, was shot more than 20 times in the back on Monday afternoon after two sheriff's deputies tried to stop him for a bicycle code violation, said Benjamin Crump, who said he is representing Kizzee's family.
President Donald Trump, a Republican, arrived in Kenosha on Tuesday as he seeks to rally his base of white supporters by defending police against criticism of brutality.
Kizzee was riding his bike on Monday afternoon in Los Angeles County's Westmont neighborhood when two sheriff's deputies who had been driving by tried to stop him.

Kizzee abandoned his bike and ran for a block with the deputies in pursuit, Brandon Dean, a sheriff's department spokesman, told reporters on Monday evening. Kizzee then punched one of the deputies in the face, dropping a bundle of clothing he was carrying, the department said.

The deputies said a semi-automatic handgun was in the dropped bundle, and both of them began shooting Kizzee, the department said.

So we have no idea what actually happened, but we know what we're supposed to think about it. I hate the media more than any other entity in existence.

And could someone please explain to me what the NFL is trying to do to itself?

    Unfortunately in this case...

Crump asked on Twitter for people to send him any videos of the incident, saying that sheriff's deputies are not required to wear body cameras.
So unlike some other instances where the full story comes out a few months later, we're still left with what we're told. And apparently any footage from strangers on Twitter is an acceptable alternative.

Last I heard about the NFL is that viewers were sick of all the anti-racism drivel and ratings weren't too hot. Guess they're trying to see how deep in the hole they can get?

I think it's largely because most of their players are wrapped up in this bullshit.

Society did NOT shut down because of a 10% increase in annual deaths.. Those deaths happened IN SPITE of the biggest shutdown in history. To base your assessment as to whether or not the shutdown was worth the economic cost on those numbers is just as wrong as using them to state that "COVID is not much worse than the flu". The economic costs are visible, but the health benefits (i.e. numbers of lives that were saved) will forever remain invisible - yet those are numbers you would need to make your assessment. Whether or not the estimates (for instance more than 3 million saved lives in Europe) are way off, we do not know, but I'm sure you would agree that the increase of 10% in annual deaths would have been higher had the country not been locked down??

Why would I agree to that? Where is your evidence? How much higher? I don't think you understand the depth of the damage done to the economy and to the society in which it operates.

Forget it, it’s just a new persona for one of your trolls. Amusingly, you do seem to have a bunch of those.

Criteria for ICU admission and clearance are dynamic, so raw occupancy statistics aren't meaningful. However, they are good material for fear porn.

Also, given that people die of things other than COVID - and the lockdown has had a big effect on mental health, medical care and quality of life - the lockdown may have caused the increase in deaths.
