Somehow, I can't imagine we would see such totalitarian behaviour from the police in Moscow, Russia.
Or the police responding this way if the religious chants were Islamic.

And if she was actually arrested simply for not wearing a mask, that would be bullshit.
But she wasn't arrested for not wearing a mask, which I figured out a priori when I read in the first sentence of CFP's writeup that the incident occurred in Logan-fucking-Ohio...for those who haven't spent a lot of time in Logan like I have, it's the epitome of small town conservatism, with Trump shellacking Hillary there by nearly 40 points in 2016. And then I confirmed my skepticism by reading local press accounts of the event, which were out at least a day before CFP picked it up. The woman was on school property, and the school district requires anyone on school property to wear a mask. She refused to do so. The officer told her several times that she had to put on a mask or otherwise would have to leave. She refused. He then told her that if she refused to wear a mask, she would be criminally trespassing and could be arrested. She again refused to wear a mask or leave. So he told her she was under arrest for criminal trespassing and asked her to put her hands behind her back.
Then the recording started, when she was resisting an otherwise lawful arrest for criminal trespass after being given numerous opportunities to walk away without issue. She was then formally charged with criminal trespass after this incident. She was not charged with failing to wear a mask, and the Logan police specifically said that she was not arrested for failing to wear a mask.
Like it or not, the school district imposed a lawful regulation on the use of school property. The woman could either choose to follow those rules, or not step on the property--she doesn't get to make up her own rules because she doesn't like the policy, any more than I can refuse to wear a mask at my local grocery store in violation of their policies (or refuse to wear shoes, or refuse to wear a shirt, or carry a gun).
If this woman wore a shirt that said "Fuck Trump" on it (which she would unequivocally have a First Amendment right to do at the Ohio Statehouse), refused to leave multiple times after being told she was violating school property rules against wearing obscene clothing, refused to leave again after saying she would be arrested for criminal trespass, and then resisted arrest, I suspect the CFP and most of this forum would have a different take, ranging from complete indifference to full-throated support of the officer. Certainly nothing suggesting that those watching the woman getting arrested (who had the benefit of watching the entire thing unfold, unlike us who only got the last three minutes) were cowards because they didn't do...what exactly, I'm not sure, but I guess something along the lines of attacking the police officer?
"Trump was right"
Newly disclosed internal FBI notes and text messages detail the extent of the FBI's desire to take down Trump and his associates at any cost.'Trump Was Right': FBI Texts Detail Furor Over 'Crossfire Hurricane'
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents tasked by fired former Director James Comey to take down Donald Trump during and after the 2016 election were so concerned about the agency’s potentially illegal behavior that they purchased liability insurance to protect themselves less than two weeks before Trump was inaugurated president, previously hidden FBI text messages show.
We don't like it, because we're all tired of this shit. If this mask insanity was not taking place, she wouldn't have been arrested, and to most of us that's all there is to it.
Voter fraud also concerns us:

And yet these fools in the media want us looking elsewhere:

Snarky legal clips online say the same: "they own it, they set the rules, you don't have to like it". These bastions of jurisprudence can't think they're preserving the rule of law and western society with these quips; they do seem to relish being in the middle of an interesting fracas. It's just legal machinery in motion.
She was arrested for simply not wearing a mask. The shift in reference frames is reversible: not wearing a mask becomes criminal trespassing just as criminal trespassing becomes not wearing a mask.
"Attack" lacks imagination. Stand up to the idiot cop who "was just doing his job". Stand up and object loudly from an unmasked face. Accompany the woman as they escort her out. Nonthreatening, but present. Narrate on the way out. Seems crazy, but the arrest is moreso. Not so difficult to conceive.
If anything was lawful about this situation, it was the woman's instinct, against "lawful regulation" and "lawful arrest". The equivocation with some kind of obscenity or movie-theater shenanigans is going to bury us.
Brodie, I recall we had friendly wager about 4 years ago for $60 (?). I think you were convinced Kushner (?) would be indicted / arrested.
My charity of choice for your donation is: The Appleseed Project
The donation can be made here: Make a Project Appleseed Donation
Did you make that donation? If so, thanks for playing.
Let me know if you'd like to make more wagers. For example, this time, I'm convinced James Comey will be indicted. Wanna play again? $60?
I'll take that one. These people do not put each other in jail. Except Scooter Libby.
