The trouble is "leftists" is a catch all term for very different types of people, my observations of these people in my country.

The traditional working class leftist union type who want to improve working conditions, these are almost extinct as far as I can see. Most working class people in my country are now more conservative and certainly socially conservative. They are appalled by the desecration of our war memorials by these Marxist idiots.

The entitled intelligentsia. These people are the Guardian and NYT reading class. They are always looking for a new marginalised group to pretend to care about to show moral superiority. The truth is they are disgusted by the working class and the only people they hate more is anyone who is wealthier than them. Wealth redistribution always starts with others and they almost advocate a nasty kind of declinism of western civilisation, almost like they think we deserve to fail as societies.

Then you have the hardcore 'Marxist' types, usually those who have failed to make the most of the opportunities provided by their rich parents. They all call their music and clothing choices 'alternative' but it's like a uniform they all wear to say 'I don't care, I'm unemployable'. It's like an extended teenage rebellion, a phase for some, a lifetime curse for others.

All leftism is based around some kind of victimhood and they hate the idea of personal responsibility advocated by conservatives, usually because they haven't got their own house in order, and it's easier to blame someone than to clean their room.

That podcast seems to forget that gentrification doesn't happen in socialist countries, old buildings just get older and then fall over, hopefully not on grandma.
I have come to believe personality determines much more than we give credit. I agree, most leftists think humans are "good" and that when given the right opportunity people would choose the right option, kinda like the ending of The Dark Knight. I am a cynical person, in the best sense of the word. I am mostly organized, goal driven, not very extroverted or creative and I tend to vote conservative. I would rather choose my own fate then hope someone good does it for me. The biggest battle between these two groups starts here. Conservatives are deathly afraid of a psychopath/dictator/fascist/ or whatever getting into power and taking their freedom. To conservatives, the Covid lock-down is exactly that, to leftist, it looks like conservatives are careless and do not care about others. To both groups, it appears like the other one is the worst thing that could happen to mankind. In reality, in a civil society, this is a good thing, "iron sharpens iron." However, I am afraid the conservatives are right this time -- narcissists, psychopaths, and megalomaniacs have taken over the majority of the decisions, the good guys and gals have been manipulated, and the common folk will pay the price.

And if you call the police because someone is committing a crime on your property, be careful, you could pay for it later. We live in a clown world, my friends.

Dude. Seriously? Could you really believe that building this rock of progressive secular biznass religion on the foundations of Michael Moore and Meg Ryan is at all plausible? I have a spare tooth you can put under your pillow if you do.

Listen, I don't know how old you were when Robert Reich wrote "The Work of Nations" back in the early 90's, but it was anything but small business friendly. Given that Reich was Lord Clinton's Secretary of Labor, it's safe to say that it was the Bible for liberals and has remained so, at least until the current slogan of Build Back Better became current under the dems. In this book Reich advocated keeping the knowledge work on-shore and shipping off all the manufacturing and other such work overseas. Along with all the pesky small businesses that would suffer no better fate than the Kulaks under Stalin.

So suddenly, Sleepy Joe got tasered out of his family's shady overseas business deals in the PRC and Ukraine and is now claiming to be the friend of small business? You truly have swallowed a lot of kool-aid.

Then why do the Leftists/Democrats always seek the power to control our behavior?

There is a certain type of leftist who thinks that if the little people did as they were told they would be 'good'.

You guys show videos of protests all the time but those protests are so small that most Americans don't even know about them. People on the left do make their names known and publicly state what they think. They publish pieces in magazines. And I'm not talking about liberals. Why, if that's the case, do you guys instead post 30-second video clips without context? It feels like that's a good way to mislead yourself.

I also could use help understanding why Mark bemoans the decline of independent media but quotes Citizen Free Press all the time. We don't know who funds or owns Citizen Free Press. We have no idea how independent they are. It's the most opaque media organization out there. It's also funny to see him call Fox News, which is at the heart of corporate media, "independent media". For all you know, Citizen Free Press is controlled by some of the same people who control Fox News.

Finally, I could also use help understanding stuff like this:

Do you guys accept Mark's analysis Biden is "fucked"? This is emblematic of the analysis on this thread. Biden and Democrats are way ahead in every poll in the country. Campaign's third quarter FEC reports came out recently and Republicans are way behind in terms of fundraising (‘Green tsunami’: Inside Senate Republicans’ financial freak-out - POLITICO). But Biden is fucked because of what you saw on a short video clip with no context? It'll be very interesting to watch y'all's reactions to the election results.

As always... hubris. But now I'm the lid giving the answer away in class.

Imagine, with turnouts like that, how it will be when Democrats "find enough" mail-in votes to win. I still say they just want a dead election. I don't know if they planned on quite so many mail-in votes being thrown out. Their recent pivot was interesting.

When I posted the Rasmussen poll results last week, it made no sense, given reality like this. Still doesn't to me.

Your prediction in this thread many pages ago of a trump blowout....Hope it comes true.
