We have to Wal. Everybody has to do what they can to support products made elsewhere. My personal rule has become, buy Australian Made first, and buy made in anywhere but China second. It's difficult, and take time to work through, but I personally believe its worth it. Notably for this board, the 'fitness industry' seems to have taken note. If I was to open a Starting Strength style gym tomorrow, I could equip it entirely with Australian made products, from racks to barbells to plates, etc. This wouldn't have been possible just a couple of years ago.

Is the difference between COVID deaths in the US (275k) and China (5k) well understood? Better masks? Health care? Less freedom? Misleading reporting (both directions)? It doesn’t seem biologically or mathematical possible.
It’s been the same over here (UK) since the beginning.

    Deaths with, not from.

Take into consideration the amount of false positives abs asymptomatic patients and it will reduce the ACTUAL death toll by a staggering amount.

They have imposed a lockdown in November, and their death toll has quintupled in the past couple of weeks, and they are seeing record new infections. I think the deaths will climb to 1000 per day soon and I don't see this stopping until spring. They simply went into lockdown too early, and this seems like it might be an even worse model than the Wuhan one. Of course, since nothing is going as planned, they are tightening restrictions.
Ahhh yes I love the tremendous logic of the Germans.

Lockdown doesn’t work, it causes more deaths, ruins the economy and will have disastrous long term consequences.... Let’s lockdown harder.

A bit of hype. I've seen most US and European news put a negative spin on almost everything Sweden has done. If you want to read what Sweden is doing, here's a Swedish News source: https://www.thelocal.se/20200228/cor...oure-in-sweden You'll need cookies on.

China also sent buyers out at the beginning, and bought up stocks of masks and shipped them to China

    I believe they are.
Now, why was it so important to lobby lawmakers for special indemnity?

Terrific use of technicalities and semantics in both cases to avoid the issue. You would make a serious or severe politician.
I can't decide which word is more appropriate.... or if they both are.

It was very important to recognize that you maybe should forget your Hippocratic oath because the phrase "First, do no harm" was an indirect translation from the original Greek version and only added directly to official versions in the 1600s. Terrific work.

I guess, sometimes we all have to make decisions about our moral turpitude:

Thank you for the correction. I thought I read Phase II. The man who died was reported to be in his 70s and considered to be in a high risk group. I did not see any reason to doubt that report.

Regardless, the number and severity of reactions across all manufacturers and all trials appears to be much much higher than what would typically (or ever) be allowed to pass for Phase I or Phase II trials. I have read through many trials (including Phase I) that have been shut down or put on pause due to much more minor concerns. I believe the Phase I trials typically are worth reading in full. In this case, I do not believe it is worth my time to read any more than summaries.

I am also waiting to see the phase III trials, but believe there are serious issues with study design and protocols. I will read the phase III trials in full.

For me, ^this^ is one of the more notable posts in this thread.

That's not part of the conclusion of the authors. Please stop using this political jargon, there is enough of it in those papers as it is.

Yep. I had some of my work involved in pre-clinical trials and one in particular was an extremely promising potential breast cancer therapeutic. Hopes were high, but it’s fucking hard to even move beyond pre-clinical. Our compound did not.

I’ve no doubt given the fear porn, that standards have loosened, either by design or human nature. It remains to be seen if the same culprits that deny Trump had anything to do with these new vaccines being fast-tracked will be the same ones that will blame him if/when people are having real issues (both serious AND severe) with this/these vaccine(s). Hence the Fauci- OH I MEAN MODERNA- indemnity.

When I sit back and look at all fronts of attack from the left and msm, I have to give credit where it’s due. They snuck up and covered every angle of possible rational discussion. The great smothering is underway.

And for the record, I’ve voted both democrat and republican in the past. I voted for Obama and for the first 2 years thought Trump was terrible. Then I realized I had balls and if I was judging him because his personality didn’t appeal to me, instead of what he was doing, then I was the idiot. I’m one of those that have become so disillusioned with the left (with special interest on COVID), I’m done.

Yes, I voted for Obama. But at least I voted for Reagan.

    Oh and masks don’t work.
