Finally, I now have the answer to this question. You are exactly right.
I have these people in my family; nice people, good people, highly educated successful people...but they aren't there to question. They are perfectly capable, but they've purposefully shut down that part of their brain.
The only way to stop them is to shun them locally. They have to understand we (their locally community) demand more of them, and they must feel social pain for their unwillingness to apply their training/education in pursuit of truth.
There isn't such thing as Marxist theory or Marxist model. There's a Marxist scientific method (called dialectic materialism). Disagreeing with it is the same as disagreeing with relativity or evolution. It simply means you didn't understand it. Marx applied this method to socioeconomic system he lived in to show its flaws and explained possible ways to fix (when certain cretarions are met, which btw still aren't). You can agree with it or not, it is doesn't matter. You will just keep getting flabbergasted every time this happens. I don't know what you mean by famous reaction to Communism, or what mein kampf has to do with it.
I am far from a leftist. I simply response in the same idiom as the author chose for his comment. And I don't have anywhere to go away, I'm at work. I was bored and I wanted to see what kind of forum this. Apperently it is the most common type, where people jump to labeling someone without giving a simple thought to what they are trying to say, and then hit them with arguments of "you don't know what you are talking about" type to make themselves fill smart. But then again its only a strength training forum, not brain straining, isn't it?
Again, who joins a strength training message board to debate politics?
Forget even trying to explain your “ideas;” we’ve seen all of these tired canards thrown about before. We all have better things to do.
The funny thing is, Fraulein Fawchee is seemingly regarded in the business as not a terrible researcher. You ask even his critics today, even those who aren’t critics of him specifically, and they’ll tell you that he’s first rate. Jay Bhattacharya of Stanford says that he’s a prime reference in one of his most useful textbooks.
It looks like he’s fallen into the Alan Greenspan trap. Remember, Greenspan was a gold guy. Murray Rothbard praised his writings on hard money. And then he became chair of the Fed. You know what happened then. Looks like exactly what went down with the esteemed 50+ year-tenure bureaucrat.
Another vaccine approved in the UK - Oxford-AstraZeneca
Covid-19: Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine approved for use in UK - BBC News
I'm confused, how is the up scaling of this mass vaccination programme going to guarantee giving our freedom back? The "experts" argue getting the vaccine doesn’t prevent us from getting Covid, it rather protects us against the affects of Covid. If the benefit of these vaccines is to only reduce serious infection but it won't stop an immunised person from contracting an infection or stop them from spreading it to vulnerable groups. As restrictions begin to ease then surely more people will continue testing positive. Thus no impact on the number of Covid deaths being recorded as "a person with a positive test result for COVID-19, and died for any reason, within 28 days of the first positive test." With the additional rise in mass testing increasing week by week (financial incentive growing by the day it's becoming quite an industry over here) then I can't see this Covid hysteria ending anytime soon. "Hotel California" springs to mind.
Wait, and I’m going against my previous comment, you’re saying that Marxist “scientific method,” which it isn’t, is a priori true and those who “disagree” with it simply don’t understand it? That’s what you’re saying?
Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk, please pick up the white phone.
Incidentally, dialectic materialism was Hegel, not Marx.
Relativity is backed by actual math. Evolution is a sound explanation for observed phenomena, but it can still be disagreed with on the particulars because unlike relativity, you cannot just wheel out some math to prove it. Observations about socioeconomic phenomena are often the least backed by hard evidence, as this is all soft science. Economists are often wrong. Math often cannot back observations from these fields because the human element cannot be bottled up by some algorithm. This is why facebook still idiotically has my political views classified as "democrat" as far as their metrics go.
