I would have guessed mid forties.
If you have the genetics, adaptability and attitude on your side, you are very young. But, if those factors are against you, you are very old.

When I think of baseless self assurance, I think of this video:Steve Ballmer: Developers - YouTube
    It worked well for him.

And today our Health Secretary announced on national TV he is “extremely worried” about the newest variant of Covid due to arrive from South Africa, even more infectious than this current second strain. It’s in utter shit show here Rip. At least we had Brexit. But it’s not enough. We need another Civil War to purge the pussification. I’m ready to get into a Beserkergang!

Yes I know I hacked the spelling.
Sure, our dictator dude was your typical commie dictator, although somewhat smarter, in that he didn't align himself with Stalin, but mooched money of the US to serve as a "wedge" against the Iron Block. You could say things were going somewhat well as long as US money kept pouring in, borders with the West were open and shit. However, since the idiots were running your typical communist low-tech high-labor "industry", which they mostly inherited from Germans, Hungarians and Italians (whom they ethnically cleansed after WWII in amazing numbers) and proceeded to run into the ground, it wasn't really a profitable economy. Come the eighties, the Third World Debt Crisis, the country went into a ten-year long default, which ended up with civil war, some 150k dead people (more ethnic cleansing, rape camps, torture, all that jazz) and several independent countries with a huge KGB (for reference purposes) mafia class that stayed in power in all the republics. It essentially took us another 20-year long cycle of near bankruptcy in order to implement some semblance of capitalism. Imagine our surprise when the EUSSR turned out to be the same thing, but with more money! You want more? Because there are so many parallels with Covid, I keep laughing my ass off daily.

The reasons why the number of hospital beds in England has declined over the years appears to have quite reasonable explanations. The NHS has been reducing the number of beds for decades: since 1987/8, the total number has more than halved from around 299,000 to 142,000. Within that, the numbers of beds for people with learning disabilities and mental health problems have fallen more substantially – by 96 and 72 per cent respectively. Several changes in the way that care is provided have made these reductions possible. For example, care for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities has gradually shifted from institutional settings into the community; technical improvements in surgery have meant more patients undergo day surgery – in cataract surgery almost all operations are now day cases; and average length of stay for hospital patients has fallen from eight to five days over the past 15 years thanks to developments in clinical practice and how patients are managed.

The fundamental problem is the modern human I’m afraid and it’s exponential mollification since the 1960’s. Abdication of personal responsibility, castration of courage and state sponsored Pussification - on the global level - “Atrophy Agreed Upon”. A flood is required.

I guess it’s just hard to understand why you’re so sure that this won’t be an obstacle to living in the type of world we ought to want to live in, given what it’s fair to expect about the near future. Amazon isn’t going to suddenly start becoming LESS able to encroach on production/distribution of goods/services traditionally handled at by local firms and contractors. They aren’t suddenly going to decide that what they want is a LESS diverse set of revenue streams…

LMAO…. Okay, you wise-guys, you got me. Here’s the link to the source, you’ll have to ctrl+f “Figure D”: U.S. poverty rates higher, safety net weaker than in peer countries | Economic Policy Institute. In my defense, one has to have a VERY high IQ to know that when the button says “copy a link to this image”, what it means is “copy a link to this image with all of the relevant information inexplicably removed”.

But yes, Mr. Rippetoe, numbers lie all the time. The study cited in the report is nearly eight years old (leaves out the economic boom of Obama’s second act, right Rip?), and you will not be able to scrutinize the raw data, because it is probably in a pay-to-view academic journal like most research of its kind. There will always be some level of inclination to doubt quantitative data you were uninvolved in compiling.

I suppose, then, I’ll have to substantiate my claims about the urgency of the situation elsewise. 22:20-22:19 oughta suffice (FRONTLINE | Poor Kids [2012] | Season 2017 | Episode 21 | PBS) What do you think the PCDAAS score of those sad little discs of wheat gluten that family survives off of for weeks at a time, Rip? I want a CPR below that number.

    RE this hero cop article:

Heartwarming story. It’s a good thing these women didn’t try that stuff a few miles west of Wichitah Falls, because in that case citizens free press would have had to publish an op-ed from a mysterious cultural critic submitting under the name ‘E. Hark Murling’ and entitled “HERO COP SLAYS BRAZENLY FLINCHING DETAINEE, EARNS LIFETIME PAID VACATION”. It’s also interesting how CFP is avoiding discussion of some of the things this fellow did to earn the money he paid their tab with, which doubtlessly included leaning on desperate shopkeepers and restaurateurs to submit to the state’s lockdown measures.

I want cops to do good, Rip. The tech barons that publish CFP* just want them to do well.

I'll get to it in a short while. I don't know what your background in economic theory is (mine is purely masochistic, i.e. amateur), but if you read the great liberal economists, like Adam Smith or David Ricardo, Marx's analysis is not that far off that particular path, even though it descends into complete lunacy when you move outside of the scope of his major works and look at the Manifesto and shit. It is however, quite interesting to note that many contemporary economic thinkers are coming to realize that growth by compound interest necessarily leads to default (duh), which is something that Marx was the first one to mention, even before the Austrians (whaaat)! Mind you, when I say economic thinkers, I don't mean professional economists. Those bastards are knee deep in the great fallacy of our time, the part of Keynesian economics that leaves out saving (reducing deficits) when the economy is growing and splurging in a recession, and leaving only the perpetual spending, thereby making the scene ready for an inverted revolution of the proletariat - the revolution of the bourgeoisie that we re seeing now. So may I suggest Keynes' General Theory when you get done with Marx, you will then know the enemy fully. You might then come to appreciate the farcical element Covid as history repeating itself (I lived through the tragedy, let me assure you that the farce is much more palatable, even though the tragedy is much more fun, provided you survive it).
Haven't read Mein Kampf, I should get to that one.
That was the meaning I was going for.
My knowledge of economic philosophy has primarily come from thousands upon thousands of piecemeal readings that give me a good general sense of the philosophy and arguments. I am an intentional amateur in the area, because I believe it is exceedingly rare and extremely difficult for a philosopher or an economist to maintain the grounded perspective of a realist once they become a specialist.

Many of the initial demands, even in the Communist Manifesto, like a progressive income tax, government control of vast public lands (several states are over 50% owned by the fed gov) and free education are strongly supported by many mainstream Republicans. The differentiating factor my be that the Republicans plan on stopping after those demands are met, but the leftists only intend for those demands to be first steps.

It is intended to be listened to or at least read with the knowledge that it was written in oratory style.
I have only read bits and pieces so far, but I have read enough to believe it should be read and that the book is far different from what most people perceive it to be.
Many AntiFa types would likely even find common ground with many of the concepts.
