With the tech industry being what it is I'm unsure if you can find stuff that has zero lefty ties. Duck Duck Go is less a browser and more a search engine and an add on that you use to maintain privacy. Hence, it's great if you are proficient enough to combine it with a vpn but not so great if you are less proficient and just need something plug and play.

Opera is owned by a Chinese consortium. Though it's a great browser I am not sure I'd trust the privacy factor there. Brave is pretty committed to privacy and it's plug and play for the most part. But if you really want a lot of privacy you need to go full on VPN and Proton and Tor. Maybe even dump your Windows for some Ubuntu or something non-Bill Gates owned. (There's plenty besides Ubuntu I just like its ease of use.) I have a feeling we will all be glad later that we made it as hard as possible to track and log our posts and movements.

Someone else posted about alternatives to Google drive. I like DropBox. It's pretty easy to use. Sync is also good if you need something for larger files. Bit Chute can somewhat replace You Tube depending on what you want to view. But it remains to be seen if content creators are gonna do more outside of YT. Patreon always has good people, I watch a lot of that.

Based on the behavior of the left lately, it seems like they are purposely escalating civil war. The right, despite all the crap the left has pulled, still are showing concessions yet the left keeps escalating. Divide and conquer is a good way to destroy a country so it's hard not to wonder if leftist politicians are in the pocket of foreign adversaries, and those adversaries want to weaken the US through division and war.

They could try to impeach and convict Trump, and perhaps their reason is to prevent him from running in 2024, but don't they realize that over 70M could rise up and revolt over that? Nice way to escalate and trigger violence, and they know this.

I have always thought the US would be a prime target one day for a takeover because of its position in the world as a global leader, however once you get a nationalist in control after many years of white anting of your various government institutions by your democrats Trump had to be removed at all cost. Nationalism is just not the flavor of the woke folk.

Removal of conservative leaders happens here as well though not as spectacularly as in the US.

I see your Arnie has gone to the dark side calling Trump the worst president ever. It appears his knowledge of US history is not real good. I use to like his movies, Oh well another one bites the dust.

I think you would need rolling protests to have the kind of effect that people expected this protest to have.

I think there will now be a smaller number of people who will still stick to Trump after Trump's gone, while I think we'll see an emergence of a stronger populist element who will move on past Trump. This will be a good thing, but no guarantee of victory. Under Biden (whose presidency, by the way, will represent a victory for the CENTRE, for the neo-liberal state which has no opposition... and certainly not for the far left), the next four years will be one massive effort to control rising discontent and populism. They will try to crush us and silence our voices at every opportunity. We've seen absolutely nothing yet.

I hope people will not forget the names of these paid Conservative Inc. figures, and even Trump himself, who pushed the idea that democracy is dead in America, of the need to restore American democracy, that they stole the votes, etc.... these same people suddenly acted surprised and appalled when the public behave as free agents and these events actually take place in the real world. These MAGA people honestly believed they were engaged in a struggle along side Trump. All of a sudden these same conservative voices start talking about how this protest was an assault on the spirit of democracy, and that these protesters themselves are somehow in violation of American democracy itself.

In the same way the "far left" AOC and The Squad recently so easily abandoned all of their serious socialistic demands to Pelosi, the "far right" Trump also represented something which hopeful people could relate to and get behind but, in the end, it wasn't real.

We need to take stock about how the American Empire, the centre, takes control of all forms of dissent. It holds on to it and sublimates it. For a brief time, the protest we saw in the capitol was an example of a very small pocket of genuine resistance which shook up the attending elites, causing them to tremble, and duck and run for cover. One lesson we can take from this an exposure of how weak the existing order really is.

Whether Antifa instigated this, or the cops willingly allowed the protesters inside, I hope this has taught the right this sort of action has an effect. We saw real fear on the faces of the elite. Until now, it seemed like the right has only been concerned with image and endless discussion. While the left, on the other hand, knows that power simply needs to be taken first before they can achieve their goals. The left has people like Soros funding real people to get out there and get real stuff done, like bussing people to riots and crafting narratives through their control of the media and NGO's. While the right funds sexy women in bikinis holding guns and waving flags.

I don't think we should be concerned whether Antifa or the state itself started this mess. So many right leaning people were quick to find excuses: "We, the real patriots, weren't the violent ones! This was all planned. This was Antifa, dressed up as MAGA protesters. There were paid crisis actors." You would only ever concede to remove these elites, who you say rule over you unjustly, through completely peaceful means? If such a person truly believed in removing them from power - then of course they would violently clash with the police and property would be destroyed. The police protect the elites. It's already been said here, but I think this episode will help to put to bed the "The police are good and on our side" element among MAGA-types. Again, a good thing.
