It is an amazing display of how we live in a post-truth world.

Interpersonal trust and tribalism are all that's left when you cannot even sift through the misinformation to get to the truth.

I've been saying for years that there was a huge swath of history where people were ignorant because of lack of access to information, but now we're ignorant because of an overabundance of it.

But folks will still wave the flag of the power of the market of ideas...right up until the handcuffs make it impossible to do so.

It’s rather hypocritical, I would say, to argue that old folks who died from covid were going to die anyway, but the same dying after receiving a shot died prematurely.
Do schools no longer teach what the word "hypocritical" means any more?

    hy•poc•ri•sy hĭ-pŏk′rĭ-sē►
    n. The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess; falseness.
    n. An act or instance of such falseness.
    n. Dissimulation of one's real character or belief; especially, a false assumption of piety or virtue; a feigning to be better than one is; the action or character of a hypocrite.

Anywaaaay.....You'd have to have actual evidence that the the geezers you're claiming died of and not with Covid even had Covid at all, which is rarely the case. The tests are shit and most cases were decided based on speculation outside of a test anyway. The with part isn't even clear.

On the other hand: we know that these folks had the vaccine.

    Big difference.

It certainly could be the case that every Covid guessed death of a geezer was a real lucky guess and that the deaths of those who took the vaccine are just really bad luck and timing conspiring to kill even more geezers and hurt Dr. Fussy's stock portfolio, but that is the narrative is being shoved down everyone's throat and used as justification for rigging elections and killing economies. The exact opposite narrative is that you are assuming is so hypocritical is the minority/banned on every media and social media perspective.

oh, i'm on your side here. Its just in this case, they didn't get the (weakened) virus with this new mRNA vaccine.
(I think China and some other countries are actually forumulating a "traditional" weakened cirus-vaccine though)

The same the shoe is now on the other foot, whereas before you weren't allowed to argue most of the C19 victims were just about to die of something anyways...

...but now, that's the same reasoning they are using now for the recent diers who coincidentally had the vaccine. "Elderly people just die, nothing to see here."

Mark's disdain for me clouds his comprehension of my posts.

Many of them want to seek revenge on anyone who was in Trump's administration. As in cancel any jobs they might get, not hire them, and confiscate any wealth they might have. All the while ignoring Hunter (AKA Fredo) Biden's ill gotten gains. But there is a precedent for this. Consider the term lynching. So far, no one has called for that, a la the French during the Terror and the guillotine. But lynching has a fine tradition dating back to our own revolution. The Original Lynch Mob

Loyalists were not only lynched, but they were also exiled and their property confiscated. Is this what Americans do to each other these days?

Then there's the random thought that similarly, many wanted to do the same with the followers of Andrew Jackson once he was out of office. Had that succeeded, people like Sam Houston might never have gotten around to separating Texas from Mexico and most of the Southwest would still be under Mexican rule.

James K. Polk, another Jackson protege, might never have become President. This may seem a big "so what" until you look at the history of the border dispute in the Pacific Northwest between the US and the UK in the 1840's. Polk bluffed the UK into ceding what are now the states of Washington and Oregon to the US. All because he made them believe we could get troops there overland faster than they could by land OR by sea.

So what does this, coupled with flagging support even from their pet media types for impeachment, tell us about how much unity our homegrown national socialists really want? Some of you may doubt this flagging support, but this weekend I heard spokes ho's cite polls on both NPR and ABC national news about this to dem politicos and follow up with questions about how useful this was to spend their time on. To paraphrase what Haldeman once said, "This isn't playing well in Peoria."

Mark Hurling. I know that we have fought before. But you are a man of God and we need you to stand up for us. I am a 34 year old man I cannot win this fight on my own. But you have power and respect, and we need this so desperately right now. You are the best of the best. I will bury the hatchet, it is not that important to me. I have read your campfire tales with the most expectant look on my face before. You are a real man. We will care for you.

A few pages ago you were all like the Eastern European will rise strongest of all, now you can’t win this fight on your own. I mean, which is it?

I guess a mark of age (see what I did there?) is sometimes forgetting what our differences were. So sure, bygones are bygones.

Your post leaves me humbled. But don't give me too much credit. At one point I was ready to go full Benedictine and just retreat behind the walls of my abbey and ride out the Dark Ages. But no, even before Rowe's eloquent post about our minds and values being the battlespace, I had decided to get more involved in local politics and maybe beyond that as more than just informing myself and voting. Just what form that will take I am not entirely certain, but I know myself well enough to know I am unsuited for public office. At my age, I don't need that kind of aggravation.

The Repeachment reminds me of the leg of Mexican general Santa Anna. He lost it and had it buried, but later a vengeful mob disinterred it and brandished it through the streets of Mexico City in triumph. Not unlike dems are trying to do.

In a related note, somehow, Santa Anna's prosthetic leg ended up in the Lincoln Museum in Illinois.

Dr. Fauci says double masking ‘likely would be more effective’

As two lawyers are better than one. Doesn’t make lawyering up any more reassuring.

This is interesting: Florida and California took opposite approaches to COVID-19 - but ended up with the same outcome | Daily Mail Online

Apparently the disease behaves similarly regardless of the party in charge of the state.
