Looks like the feds intervened to stop $GME.

Citadel could have exerted tremendous pressure to limit trading, but...
Who controls the National Securities Clearing Corporation that purportedly increased the reserve requirement for the brokerages?
Who owns the "private" Federal Reserve banks?
Who controls Cede & Co and by what rules do they operate?
Why do these Self Regulating Organizations have legal immunity?
What do you actually own if you purchase a stock?

In CA the guy could sue you for hurting himself opening your window breaking while in.

Why we need multiple divorces between the states right now. None of this is reconcilable.

No problem. More than once, I have read things online that made me question the knowledge and intellect of the writer. As that person continued to argue a point, I began to realize that I vastly overestimated the intellect of a person that I initially thought was only a little stupid or foolish.

Although I grew up hunting and shot my first dove at 6 and my first duck at 7 with a .410, I normally don't comment on the 2nd Amendment online. Discussing the definition of a militia or the lack of importance of a prefatory clause takes a lot of time and rarely changes opinions. In this case, showing why Amendments shouldn't be restricted to technology or weaponry in common use in 1792 seemed like it might change a few minds.

I present, for your consideration, the Girardoni repeating air rifle. Girardoni air rifle - Wikipedia

A 20 shot magazine, available in .46 and .51 calibers and with a range of 125 yards on a single pumped up charge of the air reservoir. No bayonet lug, so it wouldn't be considered an assault weapon. And yet, the Founders didn't bother to put a codicil to the 2nd Amendment to moderate the horror of this relentless killer.

The original PCP air rifle. Gorgeous.

Can't justify an upgrade to my springer (nitro piston) until I get a command of the artillery hold.

Did you read the stuff, by the way, or did you Google and cherry pick what seemed to fit your argument? It looks to me like you looked up a couple of anti-gun pages and are parroting their arguments with no knowledge of the primary sources. Which would be a shame. There were three drafts of the document. None of them use your word choice of "only". You'd think after three drafts if he meant the line to mean "only on your own lands" he'd have said it. I see no problem with the addition of the line. You want people to read it your way- that people should only be allowed to have weapons on their property. That's probably how the anti-gun folks put it on their websites. But in historical context we see evidence for why such a line might be a good idea considering that back then Colonial militiamen often had to store weapons at an armory or powder house. Making sure people weren't just given the technical right to own weapons, but to also had the right to have them in their homes was a decent idea. Fresh on the heels of Gage's warrantless searches for guns and ammo, I imagine Jefferson and company had a very different idea in mind than you do.
You'd think after three drafts that if he meant, "your right to have arms should not be infringed anywhere" that he wouldn't have revised the first draft, the only one that implies that. Yet he did.

I read the document the way it's written, or do you only like textualism when it suits you? But if you want to pull historical context in Massachusetts passed a law in 1776 removing arms from those who refused to take a loyalty oath to America, done so following a similar resolution passed by the second Continental Congress that Jefferson was a part of. If you want to then take his draft of the VA constitution as a repudiation of that law, it's quite curious that he would narrow his meaning in two subsequent drafts when he could have kept that clear meaning. It's almost as if "these were not careless men who slapped down shit on a sheet of paper and called it a day."

I also think it's hilarious how you immediately assume I'm drawing information from anti gun sources or that I'm even anti gun myself when what I actually have a problem with is your attempts to reduce a person with complex opinions like Jefferson to some one note caricature. His writings and your opinions share about as much in common as the ocean and a bathtub.

Yes, it does. So does the soft smothering of safety when you hand over your rights to those who would be bribed. I disagree that the implication of changing the document after a period of time naturally leads to the giving up of arms. I think that is something that has been pushed and popularized by people who have an agenda it serves. The public has let that happen because they are safe and warm in their beds right now. They don't remember what it's like to need those weapons. That doesn't make it right. Popular doesn't make it right. Maybe that's why in the end they chose to make it difficult to amend the thing.
You're disagreeing with something I neither wrote nor implied. Under Jefferson's framework of governance, it's almost certain none of the amendments would stand as they do today. They may not exist, they may be more expansive, or they may be less expansive, but however the cards would fall, he wrote that the living should not be beholden to the dead and you pointing to his words and saying "but the founders..." is in direct contradiction to opinions he expressed.

Super cool video and further proof of my theory that we are devolving into morons who mistake having the entire library of the world's knowledge in out pocket with being smarter than our ancestors.

Also: people arguing about types of guns just show that they do not understand rights and laws the way our moral and intellectual founders did. Laws are the attempt to articulate and protect rights that exist regardless of what the law says. The right to self defense and of overthrowing tyrants was a given to them and a person had the right to use whatever tool was needed to do so.

It comes with the territory. It's the problem with the speed of argument (SOA). This forum is moderated and relatively slow, but we are all guilty of leaping before we look. Weird but true.

Imagine an SOA in fractions of minutes? I predict it will normalize in the next decade as humanity adjusts. Until then, just enjoy the ride.

Your state voted for Biden by 11%, if I remember correctly. Defund the police and no more oil and gas production in NM, sad state of affairs the people of New Mexico apparently embrace.

Social Distancing & Travel Restrictions | NMDOH - Coronavirus Updates

High-risk states: Persons who have arrived in New Mexico from states with a 5% positivity rate or greater over a 7-day rolling average, or a positive test rate greater than 80 per 1 million residents, must physically separate from others in a residence or place of lodging for at least 14 days from the date of their entry into New Mexico or for the duration of their presence in the state, whichever is shorter.
High-risk states are all of them, except Hawaii.

The current Public Health Order provides for the following exemptions to the 14-day self-quarantine requirement:
airline employees on travel for work
individuals performing public safety or public health functions
    emergency first responders
    health care workers
    military personnel
individuals employed by a federal agency or a national defense contractor
individuals arriving to New Mexico pursuant to a court order
individuals employed or contracted by an essential business traveling into the state to conduct business activities
Everyone is required to wear a face covering in public in the state of New Mexico. The only exceptions to wearing a face covering are eating, drinking, or medical requirements.
Food and drink establishments are to provide curbside pickup and delivery services only. On-site dining is prohibited.
Non-essential retailers are not permitted to operate at this time
Close-contact businesses such as salons, gyms and spas are not permitted to operate
All outdoor recreational facilities, including golf courses, tennis courts, and the ABQ Bio Park are not permitted to operate
Drive-in events may operate in accordance with COVID-Safe Practices.
Casinos are not permitted to operate (please note: some tribal-owned casinos may be operating in limited fashion, as the state does not have jurisdiction over tribal-owned casino properties).
Horse racing facilities may operate without spectators.
All events and gatherings of more than 5 people are prohibited and 6 feet of physical distance from others must be maintained.
Since September 4. New Mexico is already the receiver of more federal money than any other state. Yet this seems sensible to your governor.
