Gov. Abbott Deploys Texas National Guard, State Troopers to Counter Biden's 'Open Border Policies'

I guess Abbott finally started paying attention to polls regarding his performance in the face of federal tyranny. May Texans show him all the mercy he deserves.

    Haggis is doing just that.
I've skimmed some of the Hag subthreads. The underlying arguments are all infinite recursion resulting in stack overflow.

An example might be something like this:

"If smoking marijuana causes short term memory loss,
Then what does smoking marijuana do?"

My advice: Life is short. Learn to identify the infinite recursion and exit immediately. My typical exit method is to look the thing right in the eyes and say "I think you need more cowbell. Seriously, more cowbell.". Works every single time.

However, the officer who shot Ashli never attempted to arrest her. Nor did he call on his fellow officers to arrest her. Instead, he fired a shot into her chest.
Now it's her chest. I thought it was her neck?

Depends on the next few months. I think he burned the bridge, but I'm usually wrong and mask compliance is very high here.

Howie Carr wrote a very good piece Friday on masks, religion, and obedience: Howie Carr: Coronavirus has the Karens and Biden voters cowering

Covid Derangement Syndrome — it’s real, and there was a massive outbreak of it this week.

Three states announced they were ending the absurd yearlong “mask mandates,” and the left’s collective head exploded in outrage.

The reason is because this isn’t about public health anymore, or even politics, if it ever was. COVID is now the state religion, and the decisions by these GOP governors aren’t seen as a policy dispute, they’re considered heresy.

Only an infidel or an apostate denies that there is a … mild seasonal virus out there. Half the population cowers in abject terror — afflicted with CDS.

In New England, the leading prophet of the new faith is Gov. Charlie Baker. On Wednesday, in his daily sermon to the faithful, Tall Deval outlined the significance of the Mask in his strange cult:

“I think the mask mandate has been an important element in both encouraging behavior but also in sending a message about the importance of recognizing and understanding that COVID is still very much with us.”
    I like this part:

Here is Pastor Parker laying out the meager afterlife the faithful can look forward to if they follow the Book of Panic Porn:

“One of the things nobody knows at this point is whether uh if you are in fact infected and you don’t get sick and you don’t show symptoms, even if you’ve been vaccinated, are you still somebody who could carry it and give it to somebody else who’s not vaccinated?”

In other words, the eternal reward for devout belief is at best … purgatory. You can never get to heaven. COVID is not like, say, original sin, which you can rid yourself of with a baptism. This religion offers no eternal salvation if you accept someone, say Dr. Anthony Fauci, as your savior.

The only message is: Keep wearing the mask, shut up and obey!
If you aren't sick, if you have no symptoms, if you're in a demographic that does not get sick and die from COVID-19, then the mask is an essential symbol of your faith. FAITH.

Is this level of silliness -- actually a feeble description -- even possible?

And this causes me to reflect on the use of the term mainstream media (MSM). I will be calling them the State Media from now on: Here's Washington Post coming through with some North-Korea-state-media-level Biden worship | Not the Bee

It makes you wonder what excuses they gave the people they were starving to death during the Holodomor. I have no doubt plenty of the poor saps thought the whole affair was about "saving lives". As long as you murder indirectly, it's very easy to convince most people that it would have been worse without your "help". This is the feminine style of murder, and commies love it.

They probably told them that the food they were confiscating was spoiled or poisoned, just like the CDC. Hey, just doing their jobs! Just following orders! It's for your own good!!

I hope that upper left data holds. Not because I'm rooting against masks (well, in a juvenile way I am) but because I find the follow-the-science mantra to be offensive at many levels especially in the post fact era.
