He said if you are a really good boy then maybe he'll let you play with your friends on July 4th.

    Not a joke.

Biden's Depressingly Bleak 'Independence From COVID' Speech – PJ Media

“Because here’s the point, if we do all this, if we do our part, if we do this together, by July the fourth, there’s a good chance you, your families and friends, will be able to get together in your backyard or in your neighborhood and have a cookout or a barbecue and celebrate Independence Day. That doesn’t mean large events with lots of people together, but it does mean small groups will be able to get together,” Biden said in what appears to have been the climax of his speech.

“After this long, hard year, that will make this Independence Day something truly special, where we not only mark our independence as a nation, but we begin to mark our independence from this virus,” the president declared.
The old fool is doing a decent job of pretending that the deadly COVID-19 pandemic is still a serious public health emergency. And he really may believe that. If he's capable of believing anything.

He certainly believes we need to ask permission from the government to gather.

He’s in over his head, and always has been.

    A few observations.

He uses a single teleprompter. Obama would use two, one to the left and one to the right for the illusion of talking to an audience. His head back and forth like watching a tennis match.

Anyway, Biden clearly struggles with reading off the one teleprompter. It appears that he can't see it that well like he forgot his glasses. He makes a squinty face and talks in a monotone. Attempts at emotion or inflection just work poorly. It's painful to watch and his handlers must cringe the most as they throw everything in their tool box at it. (when it can't be avoided altogether) .

I have no guess as to his mental capacity but it seems fairly easy to read from a single teleprompter. I would imagine the meetings with his seniors, behind closed doors, are worse, and are of great concern.

The content of this talk was pure pablum, no surprise, but won't make his greatest hits of gaffes. Just painful to watch.

yeh, you are not the only one gazing longingly at Texas. Had a discussion with a coworker yesterday.
We are in Massachusetts and want to live in Texas to get the hell out of the northeast and its political insanity.
But we thought, what if we wait too long, and we can't get into Texas? What if Texas suceeded, they sure as hell won't take anybody from Mass. We talked about buying the cheapest lot of and possible so that we would have at least a legal claim to enter to Texas. This conversation happened yesterday.

Listen, I know things are changing there and sometimes it sucks (power catastrophe, occasional hurricane, etc) but its a lot better than the day to day shitshow up here. It has to be.

Joe Biden asks Americans to do their part to help country emerge from Covid crisis - CNNPolitics

My god, look at this sentence: "President Joe Biden on Thursday offered Americans the tantalizing hope of a return to an all but forgotten pre-pandemic normalcy within months, escalating the "war footing" on which he has placed the nation to beat the virus that has caused the worst domestic crisis in generations."

Further: "In his first prime-time address, Biden shouldered the theatricality, responsibility and pastoral nature of the presidency as never before, laying down a personal challenge to every citizen of a deeply polarized and grieving nation to buckle down to fight the virus and get vaccinated as soon as it is their turn."

And then: "The speech represented yet another stark break from the histrionics, boastfulness and lies of his predecessor, ex-President Donald Trump. Biden's evocation of an opening of the country was based in science, an in-depth strategy that is rooted in reasonable expectations of achievable results rather than the illusory and politically motivated predictions that Trump often made."

This is a news organization. This Is CNN.

Please wal, no references to Royals on these forums. I didn't realize that this was the "Harry" referred to earlier.

Biden is a soggy tabula rasa for his clergy.

The science says whoever wrote that deserves to be doused in gasoline and set on fire.
