Scientific American has agreed with major news outlets worldwide to start using the term “climate emergency” in its coverage of climate change

COVID fear narrative finally losing steam? Time to transition to the next planned crisis: Climate emergency?

Or will it be a Cyber Plandemic? I'm seeing signs of both in the matrix.

Now I know why getting old sucks: the bullshit becomes painfully obvious.

100% of what you wrote about mathematics is incorrect. On four answer multiple choice tests, guessing tends towards 25% correct by luck. Obviously you weren’t guessing.

Have you looked at the degree requirements for these programs? They are requiring the exact same academic core. We have some good STEM programs, even locally (Sate has one) but they also require the same things such as Speech and at least a Fine Arts credit. Some even go further and have diversity type classes required. Part of my point in bringing this up is that even if one avoids the places you'd usually think of as getting infested with the PC crap you still will get saturated with it. If it's creeped into courses that are required for things like nursing on the career end or things like mathematics on the STEM end then there's no escaping the exposure to it and the demand to acquiesce. Let's take my academic love -- astrophysics. If you look up a decent university's astrophysics program, yeah, you get differential equations and intermediate optics but they also require the exact same Fundamentals of Public Speaking and fine arts electives that I'm using in my examples. If I'm too "retarded" a source for this information for you, maybe go watch some of Eric Weinstein's podcasts. He certainly has experience with this particular issue (beyond what his brother went through.) Or Gad Saad for that matter. I already understood that -- it was the creep into the vocational world I was shocked by. If anything, the need for grant applications in the STEM world, alone, makes the whole "woke" culture easily spread.

I don't doubt that STEM students may be a more resilient group, but I also don't doubt that the more time that passes and the more this method of propaganda takes hold that it will matter less and less.

So I disagree with you. I disagree that that haven remains. But even more so I point out that not everybody can or should do STEM. We still need teachers of some fashion, there will always be people who need tutors or guides. We still need nurses and techs, we still need a lot of people who won't necessarily get that exposure to reason and logic those programs offer. That's something we maybe can start changing at even a local school board level if we tried. If one were so inclined. We could also start changing the ways we hire or promote. If one is interested, as some have mentioned here, in trying to stop the snowball of bullshit then correcting what's happening with the generations about to come into the work force might be a good avenue for that attention.

Pure mathematics is a good example--it's a rigorous field that relies on proofs. Mathematics asks the question of--given some axioms and structure--what can we, without a doubt, show to be true? It's also a very creative field; coming up with (discovering?) novel structures/ideas is absolutely a creative process. Mathematics distills arguments into undeniable truths about the world not modulo interpretation or otherwise. This language is so powerful/precise that we can actually check the correctness of a proof (i.e., whether or not it's actually true) mechanically with a computer; no human required. (But a human is certainly required to come up with the proof, most of the time!)

If you do a decent pure math program, you'll walk away with an appreciation for and some ability in constructing very precise, careful arguments and being able to think critically about things. (Hopefully graduates of these programs extend this ability into all facets of their life.) I don't believe you'll walk away with this kind of skill set (at least, not as a direct result of) doing a nursing program or an AutoCAD program or whatever. That's my point.
In 2020, misinformation spread not through plain lies, but through strategic omission and obfuscation. All kinds of technical specialists -- ER doctors, biochemists, statisticians, etc. -- acted myopically. They failed to account for externalities and didn't care about the downstream interpretation of their work. They only cared about satisfying the technical criteria of their own jobs.

Yet, here you are, extolling the virtues of proof assistants (??). If you think more fine-grained technical rigor is our salvation, you are badly incorrect, and just another chump. The solution is "bigger picture" thinking: understanding the context in which you operate. Frankly, that is more likely to to be learned in nursing or CAD, rather than a graduate course in homotopy type theory.

I think this statement needs some additional critical thinking.
In particular, what you are describing is equivalent to Hilbert's program of the 1920s, which proposed to derive mechanically all true statements starting from a limited number of axioms.
This ambitious goal was critically compromised by Kurt Godel's work, who showed that if your axiom system meets some very basic arithmetic requirements, you will have statements that are true but can't be proved.

When police stop you, they run your license plate number for a return. It will give all of the relevant information that the state has on file, and if the vehicle or registered owner have records (warrants, stolen vehicle, etc.). The presence of additional officers was likely due to this foreknowledge or the officer initiating the stop noticing multiple passengers, or recognizing one of the occupants as a suspect or person of interest from a BOLO.

Not the only narrative getting Thanos-snapped as reality reasserts itself:

Derek Chauvin trial: Lawyers mount defense after prosecution rests its case | Daily Mail Online

Remember when everyone JUST KNEW that Chauvin murdered him? "There's no need for more information... it's a clear-cut case of police murdering a citizen!"

    Meanwhile:

But that's just doctors and nurses with their high salaries and advanced STEM degrees doing their bestest, right? Why don't they have to wear body cams? A dash cam for every hospital bed, I say...

Regular Exercise May Help Protect Against Severe Covid. People who tended to be sedentary were far more likely to be hospitalized, and to die, from Covid than those who exercised regularly.

Do you think the majority of the shit they offer at the University of Texas is any better, with their liberal professors who just push their ideology on the students for most of the lecture?

    This guy is a clown.
