We had a state trooper here who got busted, on bodycam, planting drugs on people. I am not sure how long it takes to sift through body cam footage, but I know I'll got a red light camera ticket pretty damned quick for nobody to have been hiding or deliberately ignoring the scumbag's body cam footage. There's the outside chance that it's insane negligence, but that is not much better.

But anyone with any experience with cops or their family members (outside of maybe the Mayberry PD) knows there is plenty of covering going on gbehind every asshole that gets caught on film or otherwise.

Hell, who doesn't know someone getting out of a ticket because of being tight with a cop? I've personally got off of victimless crimes because of my dad being in corrections. So has almost every single relative of a cop I know. I also have cop friends and retired cop friends in MA, CO, NY, and FL who all tell me tell stories about some of the douchy stuff they've witnessed and how making waves is how complaints are often treated by the PD.

And I'm all for making sure everyone gets their rights protected, but we all know if you or I shoot someone and a cop shoots someone and both of us nervously blab when everyone shows up for cleanup that only one of us will have everything we say go on record. The court will only hear the curated testimony of the cop.

David, the problem here is the visceral hatred that honorable men feel when this kind of shit is witnessed. We all know that a majority of cops don't act this way, but shit like this and the Mesa AZ executioner, along with their departments covering for them, is what makes us so fucking mad that it spills over to the whole profession. They all -- good ones and bad ones -- have the same authority over us, and it pisses us off. The real question is, how does Officer Rod Farva not spend all day looking over his shoulder for the payback the piece of shit deserves? How does his little girlfriend ladycop go through the day without wondering when somebody is going to make her shoulder go POP? You're asking a lot for us to remain calm, because most of the time they get away with it. If Karen has a son, he owes these pieces of shit a visit.

And then BLM comes along and claims it's only blacks that get fucked with. That pisses us off too.

After everything is ashes and ruin you can see what it feels like when the anger and sadness and bitterness run out. When you don't have anything left to burn inside you to keep you going. You can get a a taste of what the rest of the world calls normal life, and maybe then you'll get why I'm trying to cling to hope and order and spend my life, maybe in vain, keeping this world from burning down.
