    The drug is the same.

The formulation is different. No apple flavoring in the oral formulation for humans or the oral formulation for dogs, for example. Perfectly avoidable by using the injectable if apple is a dealbreaker. Lots of things vary between formulations and it only matters if you take it "wrong" if there is something that is not good to take through that route or it will not get in by the route. For example, not recommended to stick oral tablets in your eye. Using the paste formulation orally or the injectable is fine.

The drug is the same. There is no problem from the formulation.

The labeling is different. Different pictures, different species named, different warnings and information. All adapted to the target of sale or use. Standard deal. Labeling may not be relevant to the end user and may or may not work no matter how good it is. Multipacks of all sorts of things that have "not labelled for individual sale" all over them. So very bad, bad, bad if you break that if you're a seller on the wrong side of an regulator, but breaking the pack apart - something you must do to use it - is not something that affects the contents. I know of people who've put unwrapped suppositories up their butts. Not soft wrapped, bullet-shaped ones. Nope. Ones in stiff cards with four sharp corners and the bullet-shaped suppository still inside.

The drug is the same. There is no problem with the formulation. There is no problem with the labeling.

The regulation is different. Freely available in most of the US vs controlled by the medical cartel. Lots of other places the human-targeted oral formulation (perfectly fine to give to dogs and horses, btw) is OTC. This affects how you can get it and where you can get it and how much markup there is and who profits from the selling, but these are government problems, not drug problems.

The drug is the same. There is no problem with the formulation. There is no problem with the labeling. The regulations are shit in the US, but they are not a problem that matters once you get around obstructing rent-seekers.

The total amount in the package for sale is different. Taking the right amount from a paste syringe is equivalent to taking the right amount out of a bottle. Humans who can't figure out how much to give their horses (which come in sizes other than 1250 lb, you know) or can't figure out how much to give themselves or how much to use out of a bottle of pills are a problem, but those things have nothing whatsoever to do with the drug itself. There are ways around those problems, and the ways around them are not a drug problem, they're a helping-idiots-not-fuck-up problem. Why, back in the day, we'd group drugs in unit packaging with rubber bands at the VA hospital because the dregs of the nursing profession - the sort one tends to find at such places - couldn't be counted on to figure out the math of 500mg acetominophen x 2 to give a 1000 mg dose. Very sad.

The drug is the same. There is no problem with the formulation. There is no problem with the labeling. The regulations are shit in the US (and other places), but they are not a problem that matters once you get around obstructing rent-seekers. There is no special problem figuring out the dosing vs any other situation. You can rest easy, wal. Please try.

Imagine if there was a zombie apocalypse where the fate of humanity rest in a cure. And maybe there was a very good chance an easy to produce and widely used drug like ivermectin worked! The world would be clamoring to use it even if may not work. Anything to get out of this nightmare. In our scenario the nightmare never ends and they have convinced the masses to go against their own best interest with relatively no risk and high reward.

In addition, Rip, we may very well be limiting the effectiveness of ivermectin by limiting it to oral usage. Multiple doses of ivermectin can be fed to hogs but the lice don’t die until it’s injected. It’s disappointing that today on the last day of 2021 we don’t have data on the efficacy of this drug as injected versus ingested given first pass elimination, etc.

I wonder why that might be.

Well my old job from where I have now retired from was specialized otherwise you be dead. Let me put this another way Mark is a specialist in strength training, would you rather have me training you or Mark? Mark does not play with rocks anymore he is a strength coach, if anybody could strength train he would not have a training program for coaches.

And yes Ivemectin is used for some skin conditions I believe.

Yep that is where you need to be careful in these days of self medication, as there are not many folk that are not on some type of medication, all the way from rat poison to statins.

Thanks for the info. "Try"? My Mrs has filled me up with her Indian home remedies, Turmeric, Garam ma salsa, saffron and of course the red Chilli powder rated at just below Police grade pepper spray. I am good thanks.

My girlfriends grandmother passed away from Covid the other week. Both of our families live in Connecticut while we live in Florida. This woman was 82 years old, diabetic, and had oxygen at her house she would use occasionally. When she started to get sick they asked if she could receive monoclonal antibodies, but somehow didn’t meet the qualifications. Instead, they let this poor woman sit in the hospital until she was so sick they put her on a ventilator that she never came off of. Meanwhile I went to get a drive-thru Covid test today in Florida and they are offering monoclonal antibodies at the same fucking park. These blue states are a fucking disgrace and I am doing everything I can to convince my family to get out of there.

I appreciate the devil's advocate play here. I would counter that we should gather any evidence of an ivermectin overdose (human product, not this ridiculous vetinary product that they like to bring up) from the 80s - 2019. What you will find is an incredibly low death rate and even injury rate for that matter. Most of the ivermectin and covid19 studies are well below the normal dose of .4 mg/kg of bodyweight that would be used during a different infection. The low 3mg dose is something you'd see more for a prophylaxis approach from my understanding. Feel free to correct me on that.

In any case, even in the event that ivermectin is not incredibly effective for covid, at the very least we know it's extremely likely that is has at the least a small benefit, even if it may be weak. The fact is, instead of making it widely available, knowing it's at least highly likely to be slightly beneficial, they launched a campaign to completely negate it. Even in an "all hands on deck" situation that should require us to use any safe and known product that could be of potential use.

Not a single recommendation to the public to be healthier - through fat loss, cleaner diet, workout, sunshine, walking, vitamin supplements, or anything else. The fact that they didn't utilize these things, and even lobbied to silence POTENTIAL therapeutics, makes me highly skeptical of their argument.

The information that I cited is clearly a case of a misuse of our scholarly literature system for a political or personal reason.

I'm not surprised that bullshit studies are launched on efficacy and "safety" of products by Big Pharma - they've done this longer than I've been alive. See: the opioid epidemic. See every major lawsuit against a big pharma company. Suddenly everyone wants to believe that a pharmaceutical company is our friend? Nobody would have said that even 5 years ago - from either political party.

More sinister is the obvious censorship and propaganda in the literature (as a cited previously). In my mind, this is far, far worse. Far worse. It is evidence of a diseased system. Our system is sick. If we don't identify this and correct it, then the disease will continue to progress and the system will continue to deteriorate. Look no further than a few other examples of political systems that censor citizens: Russia, China, North Korea. I'm not whining, but I think we need to continue to talk about this fucking bullshit.

And how the fuck would we do that if the leftist mob is arguing that it is dangerous and for horses? My understanding is these folks pulling the strings are essentially a sick-minded group of organized thugs. You can encounter them on either the left or the right. Jerks looking to make a buck off you don't care what color your tie is.

So, we must continue to talk about this. They'll continue to divide our citizens so we are weaker - not unified and scare the shit out of the public, then take advantage of the situation. Mark calls this "us being pussies", but I think its deeper than that. I think we're being deliberately manipulated, and there's no way to solve the issue by continuing to further divide ourselves. We have been played like a violin by political forces that seek to divide us.

Meanwhile the Japanese intelligently viewed the situation, and made ivermectin widely available to the public (by choice and informed consent). Their covid cases are nonexistent. Something tells me they understand how to better shield themselves from those that might try to divide them.

@Matt, i think there are two reasons why people who lived through communist times remember them fondly. One, it was the pre-2000 period, when the world was an objectively better place. The other reason is that it was a bad system, but one which was functioning on a stable basis of a long time, the rules were clear and all that. I don’t see Eastern European countries as being conservative, it is just a different mode for stealing money from the population via propaganda. Gays are bad vs everyone should be gay for instance, it is all just intended to make you upset so that you will go buy a chocolate, some benzos and shit like that. Maybe a car.

    too cynical?
    Was every american "mission" accomplished?
Was there ever an american "mission" which the govt, banks and the whole WEF gang profited from that wasn't accomplished im the end?

The premise that “The Literature” is built on legitimate research is falling like the Berlin Wall. The facade of blind peer review and nonpartisan editors as well as hack journals should finally be exposed. It is not just in medicine, nor is it limited to the ridiculous ExSci journals that we laugh about here. It can be metallurgy or anything else. Factual independent researchers with legitimate papers do not get published because of the gatekeepers. Guess who decides what gets approved to be published? The reviewers. Who do the reviewers represent? Nearly always the manufacturers of whatever industry the journal targets. Thus the conflict.

Those young innocent scientists and engineers toiling away who think their findings which challenge the status quo will see the light of day?
It will be politely rejected by the reviewers of the journal. As they will find out, they cannot release their paper online without getting fired. These papers have to align with the larger interests of the industry, often specifically of the largest manufacturers. Will these young researchers compromise and play the game, slightly modify the conclusions or soften the data? We will see. If they are hell bent on getting published and cited they will play ball and the cycle continues. If they want to build a staff and get their own funding for said staff to publish more they have to learn play ball.

None of this is news to many of us but I think the public is asking the tough questions now.

Ah, “The Literature”. Someone please cite this so Google Scholar can show how important I am.
