And the same thing can be said of Zelensky. We don't know what's going on over there, and we should not make it our business. But we have. Did you know that our forces in South Korea are essentially unarmed, having sent all their available war materiel to Ukraine?

    This is hilarious:
'How much of that money is going to the migrants? Oh, none': Tucker Carlson slams GoFundMe for Martha's Vineyard migrants as it's revealed none of the money raised will go to the 50 Venezuelans
The arrival of 50 Venezuelan migrants on the exclusive holiday island of Martha's Vineyard was met with an outpouring of concern by local people
A GoFundMe entitled 'Urgent plea to help Martha's Vineyard migrants' was set up by a New York PR executive, Sarah Goulet
The fundraiser generated $43,000 - but the money was given not to the migrants but to a local non-profit with a $16 million fund
The money was given to 'the MV Community Foundation, to distribute to the organizations with the most need,' the GoFundMe stated
Tucker Carlson mocked the islanders living in a community which was 'just not rich enough' to house the Venezuelans
On Friday morning the migrants left Martha's Vineyard and were taken to Cape Cod, which has better infrastructure and facilities

I believe that is correct. It’s called first world problems. Gluten, gender, equity have replaced famine, disease, and war.

Yeah, yeah, yeah….. tell me I’m wrong.

Only Russia can fix this. Putin is already using infantry as fodder to spot Ukranian positions. Now he's talking about sending in 300,000 conscripts. That's 300,000 Russian families expecting their sons back in body bags. Someone internal needs to step up and kill that prick and as many of his inner circle as possible.

Chill out, this is how territory disputes get handled in Eastern Europe. Russia and Ukraine were bound to go at it the minute the USSR was dissolved. This is literally the only way out.

    imho:

It takes two to tango, but Russia legitimate requests to be given guarantees about its safety have been ignored for a long time.
Their main error, I am sure even Mr. Putin will admit it, was to allow the Maidan coup d'etat to succeed.
Once that took hold, the path was set that led to a stark choice: allow hostile forces to reach the doorstep, and thus de facto lose independence for ever. Or do something about it.

Recovering from this situation will require both sides (Russia and the West, i.e. the USA) to sit down and make concessions; and through the years, one side has clearly shown they are not willing to make any, because their strategic goals don't allow for that.

It is a truly terrible situation, but it was not only (or even mainly) of Russia's making.

If Ukrainians had an actual Ukrainian president, and not a post color-revolution TV actor puppet, there would be no "resolute defenders". Peace would have already been negotiated. No, scratch that, there would never even have been a war in the first place.

We're basically throwing money at these poor people to keep them dying for us, and it's absolutely disgusting.

This isn't a Russian elite problem, it's a Western elite problem. In fact, if what you suggest happened to the Western ruling elite, it would be far more likely to reduce the body bag count for both Ukrainians and Russians, not to mention Americans and Europeans.

It feels tedious to ask the question, because you and everyone else should know better, but if a Russian led coalition organized a revolution in a US border state, provoked a proxy war, funded it with billions of dollars, called for the fracturing of the US, death to its leaders, and a US president took severe actions to defend against it, might you see things a little differently?

Sure, add to it multiple conspiracies to steal money, land and lives from the people by the ruling class and you got it.

I hold Putin in higher regard, by far, than any other current global leader.
He is unapologetically defendeding his nation and people against an existential threat from a hostile foreign force.
I wish our government would defend our borders and our people from the hostile foreign invasion we are experiencing.

This war is brought to us by disgusting villains like VIctoria Nuland, Anthony Blinken, Zelensky and George Soros.

    Aye.

Is anyone following Macgregor? Opinions on him? Seems to have the bona fides.

Ukraine has been an Internationally recognized (Russia included) sovereign Nation for over 30 years. Russia hasn't gone in under the pretext is reclaiming its old territory, rather some bullshit about Nazis. Our friends are our business. Putting troops in a friendly country, while not very neighbourly, is the business of us and that country. If Ukraine does fall then what? Past Ukraine is a very pissed off NATO. They won't find less troops sitting outside their border.

The other posts replying to mine are all very quick to point out the bad shit the US did but, barring stuff done 30 years ago, all they've done is fortify an allied position. Meanwhile, Russia has already invaded parts of Ukraine prior to this. They want the coast & the minerals. They aren't under the disillusion that the Western defence is a guise to stage an offensive into Russia.

They can harp on about the tensions created by having a well defended country at their border but end of the day the line is that border. Only 1 country has crossed it.
