I've seen Jordan Peterson's piece on the globalists and the green policies, but I was wondering, is there any elegant simple way we can describe what is wrong with this?
Is it just an economics problem? Is it just the simple fact that subsidies and price controls (or any type of control) have always shown to give the opposite effect?
The UN sustainable goals have been a thing for 30 years, and it was always a joke, right? Like no one would actually reach their goals in time and the deadline has been pushed forward every time. Has this changed? Do the people in charge actually believe this shit needs to happen and that it's going to work? It seems like economics would not allow this to happen and things would balance themselves out, but I don't know, humans can do a lot of self harm on an individual level, I don't see why they couldn't on a global level, although it might take a lot more volume of self-hatred and stupidity.

I feel like we should talk about stuff like this.

I guess I'm just trying to predict the future, since this period of time seems so similar to other periods of recent history.
The covid panic is very similar to 9/11 and its consequences on privacy and surveillance.
The financial system seems to be repeating what happened in '08.
We seem to be facing a recession or even a depression as a consequence of stupid economic policies, that might turn into actual draconian policies under the threat and reality of a world war and an unstable social fabric, just like what happened between 1929 and the start of WW2.

This thread honestly does track how hard right this crowd has shifted, in real time since COVID has happened. It's kind of a fun case study that demonstrates how the working class in America doesn't understand itself to be a social class. The prevelance of anti-communism (especially by people who often can't clearly define socialism or communism) is a tell that the propaganda has worked on a lot of these folks. It's pretty disheartening, but I think the ever-mounting contradictions in our economy and society will eventually help my fellow proles see through all this right-wing nonsense about individualism and the free market. Yep. If you notice two or more YouTube replies in sequence that are either identical or nearly identical statements but with different usernames this becomes suspicious.

I especially liked the recent bot calling us "fascists." Apparently the AI doesn't have access to an actual dictionary, it just keeps spewing whatever leftist propaganda it was programmed to do.

So, I went out for breakfast this morning at a nice little restaurant I've been to for over 40 years.

When I pulled into the parking lot, there were at least 10 state police SUVs and a Bearcat armored vehicle idling in the parking lot.

This is a pretty quiet tourist town, but recently a new state police station was started up.
