The reduce the use of or eliminate toilet paper altogether here are a few suggestions listed from expensive to practically nothing.

To use these methods the squat position is required.

    1. Bidet toilet seat replacement.

    2. Trigger spray attachment for water inlet on toilet.

    3. Purchase a garden sprayer new that has had no chemicals in it. About 1.5 Litres capacity with pressure pump, fill with warm water and adjust the nozzle. (works fine)

    4. Garden Hose with soft spray head.

    5. Bucket of warm water and left hand.

You will never use paper again.

The Romans supposedly use a sponge on a stick. You could try that.

I met a 60 year old at a steel mill who told me tales of his grandma soaking corn husks in lye for a few hours, then letting them dry. They also used Sears' catalogs.

Just don't flush them down the toilet. We know a girl who flushed "Wet Wipes" or some such sillyass millennial substitute for actual toilet paper, and destroyed the apartment underneath her.

Good point. I should have mentioned this was a story from 1950s rural West Virginia - apparently, they only had outhouses.

Does this advice also go for Roman sponges?

I was talking with somebody who oversees the management of a couple hundred thousand acres of timberland, and he said some folks are trucking saw logs to toilet paper manufacturing facilities. In this new Covid19 economy we make TP instead of dimensional lumber.

Use a god-damned rag. Cloth diapers worked just fine for everyone born before 1950 or whenever the fuck they invented disposable diapers.
