The farmplace we moved to when I was 12 or 13 had an outhouse, and it still had a bucket of shelled corncobs in it for this purpose.

I was born in 84 and was put in terry towel nappies until such time as nappies were not needed, as was the norm round here. Disposable nappies were for the rich.
