So where do you divert your grey water? At home in the summer I use a washing machine in the back shed and run the waste water onto the grass, (about 200 Litres a wash) however some folk who live down the hill somewhat have problems with a rising water table that eats at the mortar in the brick joints and the local council had to put in sump pumps and suck up excess ground water, therefore the plumbing inspector comes around from time to time to check that all storm water is diverted to the storm water drains and would probably not be too happy about me letting grey water onto ground.

It goes onto the side of the hill to the east of the house. Hasn't been a problem for 21 years.

It appears you folk in Texas are not burdened so much with local government regulations and bureaucratic processes as we have over here. If you want to sell your home here it has to comply with both state and local regs which now include an asbestos inspection and if you have that stuff in your home you may as well have built your house on a nuclear waste dump. Some of the homes round built in the 1960's had loose fill asbestos pumped into the roof space by a guy called "Mr Fluffy". He used roof spaces on unsuspecting home owners in those days to get rid of asbestos waste, great insulation though, does not burn, rats don't eat it, but it kills you if happen to suck any into your lungs. You have any asbestos at home?
