Static hold warm up
Rip, curious about your opinion on this. I’ve read about people (this forum and elsewhere on the interwebz) loading up their top squat set with about 50 lbs more and just unracking and holding the bar for a 5 - 10 second count. The idea is it makes the top set “feel” lighter.
Gave this a try tonight before my top squat set and it felt a little better, I guess. Probably would take more tries before I knew for sure.
Have you seen this be effective for novices or strong people? Or is it gimmicky bullshit?

It functions as dis-inhibition. I've never done it personally, but if it works for you, fine.
