Knees move forward/hips move back at the same time. If you do this with a bar on your back, the back angle must go horizontal or the bar will be behind the mid-foot.

Well, I tried sliding the knees at the bottom and then hurt myself (feels like ASIS). I’ve started aggressively leaning forward more than I think I should, and it feels fine. Sorry for the confusion, I guess I had to learn the hard way. You must get irritated with people not following your advice the first time. Sorry.
