    Thanks for this video Steve. I actually used this cue during RDLs for my workout this morning and I felt my form was much better throughout the entire set.

    Totally agree. My additional cue to myself to point the elbows backwards includes an instruction to rotate the humerus/upper arm while flexing the tricep. Immediately my lats tighten.

    Some of these cues, however, dont work with people who have very little muscle mass. The complete absence of mass means 1) there is very little enervated tissue there to provide signals and 2) the absence of a big slap of muscle means there is less proprioceptive feedback. In the case of a new trainee, they might not have enough lat to flex or tighten up. They just dont know how. If they are lucky it "just happens" anyway and then they will get bigger and stronger, but many people cant feel their muscles flex.
