Rip, as a former runner I thought of one of your most influential articles today when I read the news online.
China ultra-marathon: Extreme weather kills 21 runners - CNN
Now, 21 dead runners is a tragedy. But I am sure that number pales in comparison to the body count of barbell training, in which hundreds of corpses are strewn about in power racks and deadlift platforms weekly.
Me: Barbell training is not dangerous, and by getting stronger you will actually prevent typical injuries.
My runnier friends: Running is not dangerous! Now if you will excuse me, i have to bang out junk miles in the dark through traffic. What could possibly go wrong?
This article along with the Pajama Boy article are my favorites>
