One thing I'e always wondered, and have never gotten a thoughtful answer to, is why it's only gender that we're allowed to self-select? Why not race, age, education level, professional licensure, or other "social constructs"?

I doubt anyone would be crazy enough to get to the olympics and sabotage their own performance just to open up opportunities for others to slip in and win.

He's crazy, obviously, but not that way. He opened too heavy. His coach fucked up.

In order for this madness to end women will have to speak up and make the effort to get this changed. With that said, they’ve been hushed on the subject and greatly fear retribution from sport governing bodies. Not just in New Zealand, but around the world as well. One of our medalists was asked for her opinion on the situation prior to the games and always answered “no comment.”
Olympic spots for a country can be earned at international competitions, namely the “continental championships” (European, Asian, Pan-American, African, and Oceania). Hubbard has kept a few women from the Oceania region from earning their Olympic spot, not just New Zealand. He bombed out at the 2018 Commonwealth Championships too. Maybe if he totaled and won it would have stirred up a big enough stink to right the situation. Had he not bombed and achieved his former 285 total, he would have placed second at the games, knocking an American off the podium.

Fascinating case study coming up with Quinn the female soccer player on the Canadian soccer team. So an already elite female athlete transitioning to male. Will be very interesting to see to what level she dominates when loaded up on test. Hope she gets real jacked and grows a beard.

Not well. She'll still be a phenotypic female competing with phenotypic males regardless of how much testosterone she takes. Do you think she'll be taking enough to meet the levels achieved by 14-year-old boys: FC Dallas Boys U-15 team beats US Women's Soccer World Champions. I realize this was just an exhibition game but still, the women were world class in their sport.

There are not really any world class women. Women's football isn't really professional. Although there have been a number of female pros who could of made it in the men's game: Mia Hamm - Wikipedia

Mia Hamm was good enough to make it in a number of the top flight mens leagues. She would of been a low to lower middling player, but that is pretty crazy considering the biological disadvantage she was at. She was offered contracts with men's clubs. And knowing people involved in professional football who saw her train and play, they tell me she was genuinely good enough. Also remember most good natural female athletes don't actually go into these sports. There are some black girls who went to my school who had vvertical jumps of 26 inches at 15. legs like tree trunks. If you got them training at 7 years old and had them training in a setup like the boys got, I guarantee you some of those girls would be good enough to play in mens leagues.

They would be extreme outliers. But it definitely exists.
