    A beautiful post, thank you.

I remember watching slapshot on VHS back in the 80s. Even as a kid, I knew it was gold. The relatively slow build up in anticipation...brilliant.

Haven't seen Lebowski, will look it up, thanks.

Decent modern comedies are few and far between but Tropic Thunder and 40yo Virgin made me laugh. Super Troopers is poorly made, but also memorable. Of course there's a chance I was high, watching that one.

I grew up on British comedies, so I may have been conditioned to enjoy movies like Python's Life of Brian and more recently, Hot Fuzz and Sean of the Dead. Not classics, but not bad either.

I'm glad Young Frankenstein was mentioned. This was one my dad made me watch at 18 (20 years ago) and I'm thankful for it.

    Others worth mentioning...

    Older:
    MP and Holy Grail

    Newer:
    Nacho Libre
    Hot Rod

If you’re into British comedy, do you remember a show called the Two Ronnies?

Steven, I do, although it was more my parents' thing.

I can still recite a lot of Young Ones, Blackadder by heart.

Yeah, me too. It was my dads jam. Benny Hill, the 2 Ronnies. And of course, Fawlty Towers.

Just listened to this one and found it the most interesting genre, comedy is a hard thing to get right and I can't say I enjoy any comedic movies enough to rewatch them like I do action movies. I'll add all 9 movies to the list though, I haven't seen any of them.

I'm hoping action is an upcoming genre, I know it's a big one but I'm hoping that a few movies from between 95 and 2000 make the list as I really think that was a golden age of campy action.

Raising Arizona. Probably just me, though. I love quoting it I guess.
Same with The Jerk and Christmas Vacation.

“I was born a poor black child in Mississippi.”

So what you are saying is that you think that Robert de Niro should stay in his lane?
