Mark, when you say get to a certain weight as fast as possible do you mean: gain a bunch of weight first and your body composition will change over time. Or do you mean: gain as fast as you can without becoming a fat ass?

I got to 235 and I was fat as fuck. So I dropped the weight down to 210 and I am just as strong. Should I have just stayed at 235 and rode it out?

I gained 50 lbs on my novice progression, I understand eating there. This is pertaining to late stage intermediates/advanced trainees.

How tall? I think at 5-8 you might be ok at 210. More body weight helps add pounds on the bar because it improves the center of mass of the compound movements.

I read the article. I assume the the recommendation is to keep body fat under 20%. So maybe IWDTP.
That answers my question. - Get to 242 as fast as you can without becoming a fat ass.

I was a good little boy though. I listened to Rip: bought a gun and ate everything I could.
I went from 160 to 230 in a year. I hope he is proud. America.

Forget about bodyweight and bodyfat, just keep pushing those numbers higher. Eat a lot of meat, don't be an asshole with sugar and snacks, but get the deadlift to 440 before you start worrying about body composition.
