Nonetheless, humanity has a deep aversion to shoes. My girls spent entire summers of their yoot shoeless in the neighborhood, and often beyond. Blacktop, rocks, mud, whatever. Proper attire never received its due commitment - take a dunk in the pond in school uniform on the way home. This is still an issue - except the pond.
