How about a show on when, why, how to properly do a cut. And what to expect to your lifts, how to manage/program lifts during the cut, how long it may last, months?, what the goal should be.
How to come back from a cut, a short NLP?

Can we expect our lifting lives to be a series of bulks and cuts from now on, because “maintenance” doesn’t really work?

Got a great Coach leading me through a cut now, made me think of things… so maybe a good topic for the audience.

    Love the show,

    Rich

The bulk/cut concept needs to go away for almost everybody. A cut is something that needs to be done for some temporary purpose - like making weight for a weight class sport in the instance that competing at a lower bodyweight than what you normally carry is beneficial. It should be done RELUCTANTLY and as infrequently as possible. So the idea that a dude will spend the rest of his life getting fat then getting lean is not only unsustainable, but also implies that you're okay with self imposed swings in overall performance throughout your year.

If you'd like to work on improving your body composition, you can do so with minimal disruption to your training, lifestyle, and performance by continuing to train for strength and adjusting your eating in a gradual, long term fashion. We discuss this at length in the podcast episode linked above.

Look at bulking/cutting as similar to program hopping when you're strength training. It doesn't work long term. What works is steady progress through consistent work done over a long timeline.

This is really well put. Our diets shouldn't vary drastically depending on the season. I like your basic approach from the podcast - set a protein goal based on your bodyweight, figure out how you are going to get there, then adjust the other macronutrients depending on if you need to lose bodyfat or not.
