I think not being an asshole and being willing to work are good enough skill sets these days.

And yes, he is saying, just like we said in America decades ago (and some still do), that the Irish should not be allowed in America because they are Irish, ie, the blacks and browns should not be allowed in Ireland because they are black and brown. I'm quite sure he wouldn't like that to rear its ugly head again since it would be against him and not the black and brown folks.

Perhaps we should say we don't want any more Irish people in America like we used to say out loud in public. I mean, we have enough Irish people in this country already, what in the world would we want another Irish guy here for? /s

That's a lot of big talk and senseless babble, Jay.
Can you put your money where your mouth is?
How many of these poor, victimized people have you personally taken into your own home to live with you and your family?
I am sure you have also chosen to live in one of the immigrant neighborhoods in your city, right?
How much of your own personal money have you donated to them on an annual basis for their housing and welfare expenses?
Maybe you should move to El Paso?

No, of course you haven't done any of these things.
You would rather shriek at the lesser people about racism while locked away in your ivory tower.

If the Irish, as a group, were a pain in the ass, why would you have a problem with that observation? You don't think the Irish have a distinct culture that, at the time, might not have been useful to the Italians that surrounded them? Pattern recognition is no longer allowed?

The homeless rate has increased in 2022, but isn't as high as it was in 2019. Some of this is attributable to the lack of affordable housing but since you are a capitalist, you are not in favor of rent control or affordable public housing, right? But, don't let these facts get in the way of your opinion.

Your other comments are too full of general nonsense to comment on, but the racism is apparent in your brown reference. And even that silly comment doesn't seem to hold water as you had 94.27% white in Ireland in 2011 and in 2016 you had 92.37%.

I suspect you pulled all these stats in your original post out of your ass and probably spend too much time on facebook and other non-intellectual sites telling you that you've been invaded by a bunch of black and brown people who are all homeless and taking your job.
    What a clown show.

First, rent control doesn't work. It never has, it never will. In fact, if you've ever actually been through a university level economics class you'd know rent control as the greatest economic failure any state or country can impose on it's people. I will clue you in on the argument. If landlords cannot charge the prevailing market price they remove properties from the market which exacerbates a housing crisis. This leads to government housing, famous in Europe, which has a similar economic consequence.

Affordable public housing never works either partially because of regulatory action. The most affordable public housing, seen in the 1950s, would be concrete housing. However, this is not compliant with many regulatory standards surrounding disabilities, zoning, construction, disaster prevention, etc. As a matter of fact, these same regulations are the reason you aren't able to find affordable houses in the first place. Every time the government intervenes the people lose. If you don't like your housing options - move. It's really that easy.

Of course OP is likely being hyperbolic suggesting such a place is literally communist. Perhaps what they mean is socialist in policy. My point stands. You are the uneducated one parroting leftist talking points and crybullying OP into pity-agreeing with you.

Go read up on the latest acknowledgements of Robert Putnam, on the causal factors for what he writes about in his seminal "civil society" work, Bowling Alone.

Or just go celebrate Kwanza, because you Get It. Your choice, of course.

lots of immigrants work hard. skilled hard working immigrants generally do better than unskilled hardworking immigrants. OP- you are a fairly young guy @ 24yo- what skills do you have, or are you planning to develop? (or are you an unskilled hardworking immigrant? that’s ok too)
skills would be plumbing, hvac, electrical, surgery, mining, construction, nursing, soldier, personal security, engineering, etc etc you get the idea..

The Irish immigration argument is a favorite rhetorical deception from our WEF elite globalist cabal.
Like everything else they tell us to believe, it is a blatant lie that only fools the least intelligent and pseudo-intellectuals.

    The Irish all immigrated legally.
They never exceeded 3% of the population (in contrast, we are currently at well over 25% foreign-born by some estimates that include all aliens)
The Irish were not eligible for and did not receive welfare.
The Irish had to prove they would be loyal and useful to their new country.
They are a similar people, ethnically, linguistically and culturally to what was already present in the United States, making assimilation possible, albeit strenuous.
It was legal to discriminate against them if/when they became part of organized crime or were being a pain in the ass.
The country at that time was large, mostly empty and needed settlers if the land was to be fully integrated into the nation.

You could move to Florida. It is very hard to get by at least in south east Florida where I lived unless you arrive with a strong skillset though. But, if you do have a good skill there is tons of work and lots of land if you venture out of the city a bit.

Imagine choosing the shithole that is Southeast Florida over Ireland. Haha, you guys are funny with your cute little political ideologies and "freedoms" that you place above the realities of actual day-to-day life.

Don't you realize that "hard to get by" is a restriction on your freedom? And if that isn't, the heat certainly must be.
