The measured amount of plastic in the ocean is only 1% of the forecasts.

Why 99% of ocean plastic pollution is "missing" - YouTube

The NYTs (which I can’t/won’t read) slipped this fact in today (I can read headlines). God knows what spin they put on it, but wrong is wrong. Wrong by a factor of 100 is criminal.

You just have to trust them on other 99 percent.

This is finally getting some traction: Cowabunga, Hunga-Tonga | Power Line

There’s yet another study out just a few days ago by three scientists affiliated with the Climate Change Research Centre and Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes at the University of New South Wales in Australia. The study, “Long-term surface impact of Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai-like stratospheric water vapor injection,” is out in pre-print form, which means it awaits publication and is undergoing peer review (pre-print release is an increasing practice in science with fast-moving issues like COVID and short-term climate forcings).
And this is just fucking amazing: EU climate report: July was hottest month in recorded history - UPI.com

Aug. 8 (UPI) -- July 2023 was officially the hottest month ever on planet Earth, punctuated by numerous new heat records across the globe and following a record-setting June, according to research by the European Union's climate monitor.

The study, published Tuesday by Copernicus Climate Change Service, determined that July comprised 29 of the hottest days ever recorded.
"Ever recorded" and "Ever" are the same thing to UPI. And this is the reason we are at the mercy of pseudoscience right now.

I don't know about you all but I didn't realize this was supposed to be the 'hottest summer ever' until someone in the media told me that I was supposed to be freaking out about it. I think it's been a pretty mild summer here in NC. Usually most days are in the low 90s, but this summer has has had a majority of its days be in the high 80s. Its actually pretty nice.

I semi-regularly read the pieces, that this gentleman writes and this one struck me as rather fitting to this thread:

The Myth of Modernity – Ecosophia

Most people who live in the industrial world at present are convinced, or at least act as though they’re convinced, that the modern world is something new and unique in human history, because unlike all others, our sciences really do tell us the straightforward objective truth about nature, undiluted by social processes. They are also convinced, or act as though they’re convinced, that the same thing is true of everything else in our culture. When authorities in the modern world claim that something does not exist, in other words, that claim implies that it never existed and never will exist, and anyone who says otherwise is a liar or a fool; when those same authorities claim that something is morally right, that implies that it has always been right and will always be right, and anyone who disagrees is evil.

Same. Typical mid 80s to mid 90s this summer up north, but the nights have been down to the high 50s for the most part; nice cool sleeping weather.

Usually we get stuck with a humid 70-80 degrees at night here. Other than the occasional lingering Canadian Wild Fire smoke, it's been a really nice summer.

You must not be watching the main stream media then, aka state media!

It's simply astounding how hard these useful idiots are trying to literally pound the propaganda into the sheep's heads.

I survived the coof mania with a little help from some like-minded friends and family and people on this board.

I don't know if I have enough left in the tank to deal with the climate idiots.

    Maybe a martini will help?!
