Do you take any analgesics before bed?
Hi Rip,
I restarted my NLP in February. A couple of weeks in, my sleep began to suffer. I wake up at 3 am to 5 am and am unable to go back to sleep.
At first, it only happened after workouts, but now it's even on rest days. After a few days of interrupted sleep, I feel terrible. However, my lifts are still improving.
So I skipped some workouts, and after 5 days, my sleep normalized (slept through the night without awakening). I trained yesterday after 9 days off and hit PRs in all lifts, but once again, I woke up at 4 am tonight.
I have tried supplements, good sleep hygiene, light and huge meals before bed, but nothing helps except not training.
The same thing happened to me last year, and it caused me to quit the NLP.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Here are my stats:
Male, 5'10", 209 lbs (started my first NLP at 173 lbs)
Age: 32
Deadlift: 310 lbs, Squat: 260 lbs, Bench: 187 lbs, Press: 137 lbs, Clean: 160 lbs
Do you take any analgesics before bed?
No, I never take pain medication.
Well, okay.
Sorry, should I?
I have aches or pain after training.
Get your deadlift to 405 and it will go away
Not for me it didn't.
Do you think this dose is safe a few nights a week indefinitely? I used to take 400-600mg ibuprofen 4 or 5 nights a week for years, but have backed off to just a few times a month over long term safety concerns. It kind sucks though, and I'd rather just go back to my old routine.
